That night, you were not able to sleep. Not a peep. The anxiety and fear kept eating at you. So instead, you focused on meditating--as well as checking in on Gwen every chance you had.

"I have eyes on the anomaly," Gwen said to you through her watch.

While you appreciate the update, you couldn't help but think she won't be able to fix anything, that's what made it really hard not to tell Miguel.

"Try to get your hands on him, then." You sigh, imagining the numerous transportations access the anomaly has.

"Stop hovering. You're literally hovering." She hangs up.

Annoyance burns within you; she better watch her words, or you will pull back from helping or saving her anymore. 'I'll leave her to Miguel all on her own,' you thought with a scowl. She better step her game up and clean up her mess before you really won't be able to save her from Miguel. He always knew recruiting her was a bad idea, and this will only prove it to him. As much as you care for her, she did fail you immensely.

You waited for another five minutes, but the impatience was killing you! It took everything in you not to jump through the portal and handle it yourself. But this was a redemption moment for Gwen, if she can fix her mistake, maybe Miguel will actually tolerate her for once. And she'll also earn your trust back.

"How is everything now?" You cross your arms, seeing her computer figure look around frantically.

"Great!" She shoots you a thumbs up and ends the call.

That was bullshit. She was obviously lying to you. There goes her chance to earn her trust back from you. As you thought of a million ways to scold Gwen, you get a notification from your watch. And it was not a good one.

'Canon disturbance approaching: Earth-50101.'

You facepalm, restraining yourself from saying every curse you knew how to say. Alright, that's enough. You're going to tell Miguel everything, right now. You put your suit back on and dash out the door. Miguel never came back home last night, but you were too overwhelmed to bring him back yourself. You avoided all the greetings on the way to Miguel's main room. You didn't have the patience nor the time to stop and give proper etiquette. You did run into Jessica, though.

"(Y/n)! Lyla told me everything. I sent Hobie to go and help them." Jessica caught up with your fast pace.

You let out a sigh of relief. "That's good to hear she has extra help, but I think it's too late. Did you get the notification, too?"

Jessica looked at her watch with an anxious look. "Yeah, I did."

Your heartbeat grew at an unsteady pace, you knew Miguel would be furious that you kept this from him. Let alone, you allowed it to happen! It would take a lot of talking in order for him to finally let it blow over.

"You heading to Miguel?" She frowns.

You place a hand on your forehead, "I don't know what else to do . . . This whole thing is turning into a mess."

She places her hand on your back, "It will be okay. But for right now-"

'Alert: Canon event disrupted. Earth-50101.' Both of your watches lit up with the message. Immediately, you get a call from Miguel.

"(Y/n)? What the hell is this?" He glares as he watches footage of Gwen, Hobie, Pavitr, and Miles being crowded in cheers of celebration.

You wince, "Miguel . . . Listen-"

"You two need to gather a squad and go contain that quantum hole, right now. (Y/n), we'll talk about this later when you bring them to me." He scowls before hanging up.
