id be lying through my teeth if i said i wasn't nervous.
i had gotten there 15 minutes before the team did to meet with geno and go over a few things.
i met with the athletic trainers and gave them my information so they could add me into the systems needed.
i was now currently picking at my nails nervously as the team started trickling in slowly.
"hi you must be alessia"
i look up to see nika muhl,aka marissas girl crush.
i give her the most genuine smile i can, trying to hide my nerves from the tall point guard.
"hi! yeah that's me, its nice to meet you"
she pulls me into a small side hug which slightly surprises me but i try to relax as much as i can.
we fall into comfortable conversation about little things, i could tell she was just trying to calm my nerves.
"alessia come here real quick please" geno calls out for me, i say a quick bye to nika who turns to lou who had just walked in.
"hey whatcha need boss and please i told you call me less" he smiles warmly at me
he starts explaining that we were almost ready to start and just waiting on a couple more people who would be there any second.
meaning paige would be here soon.
my palms started sweating harder than before, the nerves rising in my stomach again making a sick feeling rise in my throat, my nails becoming the most interesting thing in the room again.
"has anyone heard from bueckers and fudd, their late" geno asks his team, a annoyed look on his face.
"we're here we're here sorry" i freeze, it was paiges voice that echoed throughout the gym.
it finally hit me that paige was here, less than 50 feet away from me.
"before we start this season i figured it would be best if you guys met our student PT assistant, this is alessia martinez. i expect you guys to treat her with respect. if she tells you to not play, you do not play, if she says get ice, you get ice, hell if she says run suicides, you run the damn suicides with no complaints. understood?"
