Frank returned to Battery City with news that would make him a hero. Frank knew where the nest was. The Nest. The very place Better Living Industries had been looking for since the Analog Wars. Frank smirked to himself as he walked through the main gates of the mega city. Frank didn't think about his time there. He didn't think about how he had temporarily gone insane. He didn't think about the emotions he had had during his flashbacks. Frank didn't even think about the fact that he had cried as he dragged Gerard far into the desert. All he could think about was pleasing The Woman. He didn't know exactly how The Woman would react to him returning, but he hoped that the information he was about give them would help eradicate the Killjoys.
If Gerard's dead all these feelings will stop.
This is what Frank kept telling himself as he walked up the stairs of the main cooperation center. There was, of course, a good chance that was Gerard was already dead, but Frank doubted it. This was, after all, the man who had survived getting launched into space on a satellite. As he entered the building he noticed something he hadn't really noticed before. Everything was white. Every last thing was a bright and blinding white. Frank stood out quiet a lot, blood caking his shirt and pants. People would have most certainly noticed him if they weren't staring intently at the ground, headphones on full blast. Frank pressed the button on the clear elevator to go up and waited, watching the people roam dumbly around the building like cattle. He sighed and smiled a bit. It's good to be home.
The elevator came down to his floor and he stepped on, pressed the button to go to the top floor and up he went. Frank had a small feeling pooling in his chest and he couldn't quiet figure out what it was. He pushed it into the back of his mind. He came to the floor he was trying to get to and walked slowly towards The Woman's room. His heart pounded in his chest with the thought of what they might do to him if the information he gave wasn't substantial. His ennistial confidence had wavered very much. When he reached the door he hesitated a moment.
'Oh god what if they kill me? Damn I worked way too hard to get out of there, only to be killed here?'
A door unlocking broke his train of thought and he watched the door slide open, like a snake retreating into its cave.
"Mr. Iero, please come inside." He heard a smooth female voice say from inside the dimly lit room. He stepped inside and the door automatically shut behind him. He took careful steps as he entered the large, white, living room. The Woman was sitting on a white leather couch, her back as straight as an arrow, her small, sharp, eyes focused on Frank. Frank stared back at her for a few moments.
"I know the location of The Nest."
