Chapter 15

Mr. Luis and Mrs. Rebecca Hernandez flew to New York and give Ralph and Elizabeth a surprise visit.

Ralph A: Luis what a pleasant surprise!

Mr. Luis smiles.

Elizabeth welcomes Mrs. Hernandez with a warm hug.

Ralph A: I wasn't informed ahead of time that you are coming.

Mr. Luis H: Well this has nothing to do about business but more a personal thing.

Rebecca looks at her husband.

Ralph A feels clueless and confused.

Mr. Luis H: I am a very old-fashioned man and the way I was brought up by my parents was totally different from what we have now.

Ralph A: I'm not following you but what are you trying to imply?

Mr. Luis H: Your son is my daughter's boyfriend.

Elizabeth: Oh David, has he done something wrong?

Rebecca holds her husband's arm.

Mr. Luis: No he hasn't but it was quite alarming for these past few days. Your son, David has been sleeping over at the mansion and I guess you are very aware of how young adults behave this time around.

Ralph A looks at Elizabeth. "What you are trying to say is that they have been sleeping with each other?"

Mr. Luis: Exactly and they aren't married yet.

Rebecca looks at Elizabeth.

Ralph A: Well I know my son, David. He wouldn't take advantage of the situation even if Isabel is his girlfriend. With what's going on with their relationship, I assumed that both parties have agreed to this.

Mr. Luis: Yes you are right but not under my roof. I wasn't part of their agreement. This wouldn't be such a big deal if they have the blessing and they are married.

Elizabeth gets dumbfounded and clings to Ralph's arm pressing it lighter while looking at him.

David received a call from both of his parents and his parents told him what happened. 

Elizabeth: Son, I don't want to intrude into your personal life but 

David: Mom just leave it all to me.

Elizabeth: Isabel's father wants you to marry his daughter.

David: That's not goin' to happen!

Elizabeth: David, what is going on? Don't you love her?

David: I will be ending things with her mom. 

Elizabeth: What?

David: I'm still in love with Nicole.

Elizabeth: David, son, Nicole has already Sean. This will be such a big mess!

David: Mom, just trust me okay? Nicole and I still love each other. I'm goin' to get her back and we'll get married.

Elizabeth: David, son, this is....(sighs)

David: I shouldn't have let Nicole go.

Elizabeth: Whatever it is that you are planning, please do it right. We don't want you to get into trouble.

David: That's what I am trying to Mom.
