Chapter 23

CJ meets with Isabel in a restaurant.

Isabel: CJ!

CJ walks to Isabel and gives her a hug. "How long have you been waiting?"

Isabel: I arrived five minutes ago.

CJ takes a seat.

Isabel looks at her bestfriend.

CJ: I kind of...I don't know where to start.

Isabel: What is it?

CJ: It's about someone who has been bugging lately and he never gives up. He's very persistent.

Isabel: Who is this someone you're referring to?

CJ: Umm...He confessed his feelings to me and he's really pushy.

Isabel: Okay.

CJ: I didn't mention nor share this with Jade.

Isabel: Sometimes we have to keep things to ourselves.

CJ: The guy that keeps bugging me is none other than Ken.

Isabel: Ken you mean, Kenneth Bowers?

CJ: Yes, it's....I don't know Isa, I feel like I couldn't resist anymore.

Isabel: Are you saying that you are slowly falling for him?

CJ: I don't know. I must do something about it!

Isabel thinks of Jade.

CJ: No matter what I do, Ken is everywhere. I just can't control every time he attacks me!

Isabel: Did something already happen between you two?

CJ: No, no, we only kissed but that's just it!

Isabel: I see. Well umm...it's really hard you know. You both have the same circle.

CJ: Should I share this with Jade?

Isabel: Umm I don't think it would be a good idea, CJ.

CJ: I don't want to give him the impression that I am cheating on him!

Isabel: No absolutely you're not.

CJ sighs frustratingly. "This is crazy!"

Isabel: You know, just a wild thought. Just out of nowhere, it crosses my mind, you know Jade, Ken, and David are close friends.

CJ: Okay, and then?

Isabel: Did you ever wonder and you know think of how loyal Jade is to you?

CJ: Umm...I...I really haven't thought of that.

Isabel: You must have trusted him that much.

CJ looks at Isabel and remembers the night when Jade and Isabel had a nice conversation.

Isabel: CJ? Are you with me?

CJ: Umm yeah.

Isabel: Boys will always be boys right?

CJ: Yeah (smiles faintly)
