Silver has officially been walking for three hours now and he was tired. Silver groaned as he sat down with his back against a tree. The sun was beginning to rise which meant that the caregivers were sure to realize he was gone soon. Whether that was bad or good.. Silver had yet to determine.
Silver frowned as he slung his backpack onto his lap from his back and took out a small bottle of water which he drank a quarter of before putting it back and taking out a packet of fruit gummies which he ate entirely and stuffed the trash into a random slot on his backpack before standing back up and putting his backpack back on.
Silver refused to give up and walk back to the orphanage. He just needed to find some sort of town and with a determined huff he started walking once more.
Silver continued walking for another two hours and he was now bored. Groaning the young hoglet paused and looked around for anything that could be even mildly entertaining. He spotted a lone flicky from the corner of his eye. It was quite a few feet away but Silver should be able to snag it.
Silver grinned before positioning himself to grab the bird and then.. Something blew it up with a loud 'BOOM'.
Silver was shocked into silence.
"Don't you think that was a bit overkill, hon?" Called a woman's voice in mild amusement.
"I REFUSE TO LOSE THIS COMPETITION AGAINST SHADOW." Shouted a loud emotionless voice that sounded male.
"Yes. Well. It looks like our damn mission was pointless anyways. Sonic and his team has already raided that base." A rough male voice huffed.
Silver couldn't help but creep closer as they had been talking and he was shocked to see a Bat, a Hedgehog like him and a big shiny mobian.
Silver beamed. This was his chance! He could ask them where the nearest town was! Act like he was a missing kid who wanted his mom and dad and trick them into bringing him to the town and then ditch em! It was perfect
Silver snickered quietly before putting on his mask of innocence and calling out to the trio in a soft and shy voice.
"Um.. Hello? I was playing with my friends and.. I don't know where I am anymore.. You three wouldn't happen to know where the nearest town is do you?" Silver asked sweetly as he padded into the clearing with his head down and his hands clasped together in front of himself in a show of submission.
All three stared him down like wolves and he didn't even flinch. Davy the Dingo and Maru the Otter pulled this same stunt on him plenty and he was used to the behavior.
Finally, The bat eased up and smiled.
"Of course hon, What's your name?" The bat questioned.
"Walter," Silver said simply with a smile.
Walter Maximus Rose was his full name from what he knew but he wasn't about to give anyone his true name. Not unless they earned it and the reason he hadn't used his usual name was because he knew the Orphanage could most definitely track him that way. Silver wasn't a common name after all.
The bat nodded.
"Alright Walter. Where do you live?" The bat asked kindly.
Silver frowned. He hadn't planned for that question. He should have planned for that question.
"You're a homeless kid aren't you." Grunted the male hedgehog and Silver's eyes flickered over to him.
Silver, knowing he had been caught in his little act, released a reluctant sigh and nodded.
The black and red hedgehog crossed his arms as his piercing red eyes seemed to stare into Silver's soul.
"So.. Where did you actually come from?" The hedgehog inquired.
Silver flattened his ears.
"I am not going back there." Silver snarled in a dark tone as his eyes narrowed and a slither of chaos energy ran across his form.
All three simply stared at him, Their body stances going from passive to defensive in an instant.
Silver felt a snarl escape his throat as the secondary voice that only came out when he was upset or mad began to whisper in his head.
Escape. Find the Brood father.
Silver shook his head slowly to try to dislodge those strange thoughts. Although.. Escaping would probably be a good idea right about now.
He hissed with all his might before using a sudden blast of his telekinetic powers to launch himself into a random tree and fly away at max speed.
He took many twists and turns and even dives before finally stopping thirty minutes later at the entrance to a town, Finally, and he sighed in relief before slinking into the Town's shadows. Hopefully Emerald Reach was a good town and wouldn't end up being like the orphanage. Silver shuddered.
