The first thing Anna noticed when she woke up, was the absence of her brother. He wasn't in his room, or in the library. Not even at the stable. He didn't came to eat when it was breakfast time. She had her idea as to why, though.

She went back to her room and that's when she noticed the piece of folded paper on her desk. She took it and immediately recognize the handwriting as soon as she opened it.

" I'm sorry for not telling you sooner. During the last two days, I was preparing my departure. We need to leave earlier than what we had talked about.

Uncle discovered for us.

Father and Mother knows. I told them everything. And, to my surprise, they are totally fine with it. They're happy for me.

Since I'm not there anymore, I imagine that you are most probably the one who will replace me, as the heir to the throne yourself. I'm sorry for letting you all that burden. At least you won't climb on the throne until you are married or old enough.

Tell Ray that I'm sorry. I would've liked to tell him goodbye, but I can't. I'm sure he'll understand. He always understand.

I still hope we will be able to see each other again, one day.

Be careful, be happy, Anna.

I love you and I'll miss you.

Your big brother, Norman."

As soon as she finished reading, she rushed outside to go find Ray.

She found him sitting on a stool, sharpening his axe with a rock for his next mission. He raised his head as soon as he saw her.

« Ray! »

She stopped in front of him, holding out the letter for him to take.

« It's Norman. »

He put what he was doing aside and took the letter. He gave it back to her once he was finish.

« So, it's time, huh? »

« Yes... »

Ray got up.

« At least, we'll know that they're alright and safe. »

Anna nodded.

« Yes. »

As soon as they exited the forest, Emma gave the order to her horse to start running. She laught as the wind brushed her hair. She was being careful as to not go too far from Norman.

Norman looked at her tenderly, happy to see her enjoying herself.

She stopped a bit further, waiting for him to join her. They continued their road once they were beside each other.

They stopped a few hours later, when the sun was setting. They set up a small camp.

Emma settled beside Norman and cuddled with him. She felt him wrap his arm around her, bringing her closer to him. He layed his head on top of hers.

« Hey, Norman? »

« Hm? »

She raised her head to look at him.

« When we'll reach a village, do you think they'll welcome us? »

He turned his head to look at her in the eyes.
