chapter 19

"Daniella you're the only one who can take the thrown. On the night of your nineteenth birthday you will be sent your destiny." Grams said. I was currently in Vampcatria to visit my grandparent. I haven't seen them since Brooks funeral.

"What if my destiny isn't what I want it to be? I want to choose my own, be free for once in my life and choose my future." I said looking away from my grandparent. We were in the thrown room plus the twenty guards. They were placed in here the day after my parents' death.

"You have no choice but to follow the one you will receive." Grandpa replied.

"But why can't I choose my own. I don't want to be the same ruler as every other ruler. I want to be different!"  I was starting to get angry.

"If you choose your own destiny, who knows what'll happen? You can reverse everything, turn evil, take advantage of your powers, people knows what." By now we were all fighting.

"Vampcatria needs a good leader, ruler. Not another Modest." Grands yell. I put my head down, I don't want this life, but maybe I can change their mind.

"Can I ask just one more question?" I asked nervously.

"What is it this time Daniella?" I can tell he was trying to calm down.

"What happens when you fall in love or maybe like someone really, REALLY much and your going to be queen in a few months, maybe years?" I saw their eyes blossom with happiness and relief.

"My granddaughter's in love isn't she." Grams said. Well obviously I just said that. "Well nothing happens, both of you will share power, depend on each other, and basically rule the kingdom together happily." She finished with excitement, Now's the time to ruin that excitement.

"What is he isn't a vampire but a ..." they both gasps and shook their head in disbelief.

"That cant happen Daniella. You know the rule Vampire sticks with Vampires. Not wolfs, not dinosaurs, not mortals, only vampires! We can not let this happen again!" Once that left grams mouth she instantly covered her mouth.

"What do you mean happen again?" I asked curiously well things went in the wrong direction now did it?

"Nothing she means nothing." Grands didn't even hesitated. They were shaking, something I as a kid picked up when they would lie or try to hide something.

"What are you hiding from me?" I yelled with anger. My eyes filled with flames. I hate when people I love hide secrets from me. "Come one what are you hiding from me, I will be queen, I need to know."

They sighed and began to speak, "when your father was your age we let him go to London for his eighteenth birthday. He loved that place and decided to stay. We let him but only until he was ready to take the thrown after his twenty-first birthday." they paused to take a breath, "while your father was there, he met a women, she was different than any other women he has every met. They became friends, friends then turned into something more. They started dating, and we didn't know anything. A year later he came to visit us without her, just to tell us the news. But we had arranged him to marry a vampire noble who was the richest family here. He refused the proposal and argued saying he found the love of his life, his other soul back in London. We were shocked, we tried everything to get them apart and change his mind."

"Later it was time for his coronation. He has told her everything about him and wanted us to meet her and the kingdom he would rule. When he brought her to Vampcatria, which set of the balance and literally destroyed this place. Everyone was loose, didn't know what to do anymore, people were missing and found in the mortal world, our worlds were colliding. We had to send her back before Vampcatria disappears for good."

"Your father did the only thing he could do to save the world and his love. He went to wizard on the other side of the town. He asked that he would turn her into a vampire. Of course he talked to her and she said it was fine and that she couldn't be away from him any more and they truly loved each other. She was transformed but forgot half of her life before she met your father. What they had was something no one else had, not even myself and your grandfather have. They had true love, love that is more powerful than anything in this world. That women Daniella was your mother." I gasped, my hands immediately flying over my mouth I was trying so hard not to cry.

"So your saying if my love for the mortal id as strong as my parents love he can turn into a vampire or do I need to go to the wizard?" I asked. They laughed, "Daniella the only thing the wizard did for your dad was tell him one simple thing, 'love can conquer all if you truly love the person enough to sacrifice yourself and anything for them.' And that's what your mother did; she sacrificed her life not knowing what will happen to be with your dad. If he's wants to be with you as much as you it will have an effect on is family and anyone around him." I thought about what they said. Its too much to handle right now, I turned on my heel and left the palace.

Prom is tomorrow and I won't and can't let anything happen to my friends or me on that day. It's for us to cherish before we go our separate ways.
