Finding Clues

"Ugh. This homework is something else." Sarah says as she is walking with Alexis down the hallway.

"Yes. But Professor Onai is very knowledgeable. She does it for a reason." Alexis says before she and Sarah hear arguing and see Sebastian and Ominis arguing.

"Anything to do with the Dark Arts should be avoided. It's too risky." Ominis says.

"Anything to do with Salazar Slytherin is worth the risk." Sebastian says.

"I can't agree and I'll not say a word more. I'm sorry." Ominis says.

"I won't give up." Sebastian says as Ominis leaves.

"Maybe you should talk to my brother. I'll see what I can find out from Ominis." Alexis says as she looks at Sarah.

"Probably best. Good luck." Sarah says as Alexis leaves and follows Ominis outside into another hallway.

"Ominis." Alexis says as she finds Ominis leaning against a wall.

"What do you want Alexis?" Ominis asks.

"I saw you and Sebastian arguing. Everything okay?" Alexis asks curiously.

"It doesn't concern you. Get lost." Ominis says harshly.

"It concerns my brother. So of course it concerns me. And no need to be so nasty. I at least asked how you were instead of asking my brother." Alexis says annoyedly before Ominis sighs.

"I'm sorry. Sebastian has just been a handful lately. I told him something I shouldn't have about Salazar Slytherin and now I'm likely gonna regret doing that." Ominis says.

"What was it?" Alexis asks.

"I think that he had a hidden scriptorium here in Hogwarts. When I told this to Sebastian he started going on about how it might help us find a way to help Anne." Ominis says.

"Well that explains that. But seriously you alright?" Alexis asks curiously.

"I will be. I just wish Sebastian would listen to reason." Ominis says as Alexis nods in agreement.

"Well that's my brother for you. But if it makes you feel any better I agree with you." Alexis says as she smiles kindly.

"What?" Ominis asks in surprise.

"The part about the Dark Arts. I don't think it can be trusted either. I've seen what it can do and I don't like it. Hexes are one thing but curses are something different." Alexis says.

"Thanks. I appreciate it. Nice to see you haven't lost your head over this with Anne. I'm happy you see reason." Ominis says.

"But if I can may I ask why you are so against the Dark Arts? I mean given your family's history that's something I thought you would be more comfortable with." Alexis says.

"Not after my family cast Crucio on me as a child as punishment for not following their ways. My own family did that to a child. I will never let myself become like them." Ominis says as Alexis looks at him in surprise.

"That's horrible. I understand why you feel this strongly. But to be fair you're nothing like your family Ominis. Yeah you're an absolute pain sometimes but you're not cruel. I don't think you are." Alexis says.
