"Thank you for coming with me to check on Sebastian. I appreciate it." Ominis says as Alexis is walking with him.
"You're welcome. I mean he is my brother." Alexis says as she and Ominis go into the Undercroft.
"It's for his own good." Sebastian says as Alexis and Ominis find him and Sarah in the Undercroft talking about a relic.
"Ominis. We were just about to get some air. Care to join?" Sebastian asks nervously.
"You're a liar Sebastian. Alexis and I heard everything. You swore you'd never engage with anything to do with Dark Magic again." Ominis says angrily.
"No I didn't. I swore to understand you wanting that. I'd never give up on finding a cure for Anne." Sebastian says determinedly.
"You don't know when to stop do you?" Ominis asks.
"I know when to stop. Leave this alone Ominis. I'll be on my way." Sebastian says as he leaves.
"I am not letting this go." Ominis says.
"He meant well Ominis." Sarah says.
"I know what I heard. You knew I wouldn't agree with this. Even Alexis one of his sisters agrees that last time was very dangerous. Going after that relic is not a good idea. Sebastian doesn't even realize it but he's as irresponsible and reckless as his parents were years ago. It's why they died." Ominis says.
"I knew about his parents dying but not why. What happened?" Sarah asks.
"I'd like to know too if that's alright Ominis. They never really told me apart from small details about it." Alexis says.
"Mr and Mrs. Sallow were professors. Spending nearly every waking minute in the cellar library. Noses buried in books. Anne and Sebastian were upstairs when it happened. They heard a sudden crash and ran downstairs but it was too late. Their parents had crumbled to the floor because of a defect lamp in the room causing an undetectable toxin. Anne and Sebastian were helpless. They had no magic yet." Ominis says.
"What a horrible story." Sarah says.
"All because of a lamp." Alexis says as she looks down.
"It is. It's why I can't understand Sebastian's recklessness. I've practically lost Anne. I can't lose Sebastian too. Please. Avoid anything to do with that spell book." Ominis says concernedly.
"The book is giving him hope and it seems promising." Sarah says.
"Everything to do with Salazar Slytherin seems promising and hopefully until it's too late." Ominis says.
"I have to agree with Ominis on this. This seems fairly worrying. I'm not sure I like Sebastian being this persistent about all this stuff with that book." Alexis says.
"I hope Sebastian doesn't pursue anything else to do with that book but if you think he might please let me know. It would mean a lot." Ominis says.
"And me too please. I love Sebastian but I don't wanna see him hurt or get his hopes up for nothing." Alexis says as Sarah nods and leaves.
*Timeskip*
"Ominis! Alexis! So the sounds we kept hearing were coming from you." Sebastian says as he and Sarah later see Alexis and Ominis as they followed them into the catacombs.
"You gave us no choice. We had to follow you. Sebastian please. Leave the relic alone. We can find another way to save Anne." Ominis says.
"Sebastian he is right. Please put it back." Alexis says.
"I'm sorry but I'm taking it." Sebastian says sternly.
"No you're not. If you won't put it back then I will." Ominis says.
"Hold on. Both of you. We can solve this calmly." Alexis says as she gets in between Ominis and Sebastian.
"Yes. Sebastian step back." Sarah says.
"Fine. But Ominis knows I won't step back from a fight." Sebastian says as he walks away.
"How much did you hear?" Sarah asks.
"We heard everything Sarah." Alexis says.
"We heard you encourage Sebastian to take the relic." Ominis says.
"Sarah that thing is dangerous. You can't possibly be okay with this." Alexis says.
"I'm not but Sebastian seems to know what he's doing. I also know he wouldn't of listened had I told him to leave it anyway." Sarah says.
"Sebastian makes things sound easy when they could be incredibly dangerous. We need to stop this now before it's too late." Ominis says.
"And if nothing will change his mind?" Sarah asks.
"Something has to. I need your help." Ominis says.
"Very well. You're right. This seems far riskier than Sebastian realizes." Sarah says.
"Good. We're agreed. We don't allow him to leave here with the relic." Ominis says.
"I do think we should talk to him but I fear we will not stop him from taking the relic." Sarah says.
"What are you suggesting? That we let him leave with that thing?" Alexis asks.
"I'm suggesting we negotiate. We let him leave with the relic on one condition. After this no more." Sarah says.
"I feel that's what we agreed to back in the scriptorium. I'm being taken for a fool." Ominis says.
"Yeah. I doubt that is gonna work. When Sebastian has his mind set he doesn't listen to anyone." Alexis says.
"This may be the only way to save your friendship Ominis. Let's trust him to know what's right.
"Fine. I trust him on this. I'm trusting you as well. The Dark Arts seem harmless until it's too late. Fine. Go on. I won't say a word more." Ominis says as Alexis sighs.
"Neither will I. But that doesn't mean I'm not gonna be keeping an eye on things." Alexis says.
"Understood. Sebastian come on." Sarah says as she and Sebastian leave.
"I hope we made the right choice." Alexis says.
"As do I. I appreciate you standing by me on this." Ominis says.
"You're welcome." Alexis says as she and Ominis leave.
