P’Phayu returns with a beta and a skin full of water.
“Let’s take a look at you,” the beta says, “I am Saifah, P’Phayu’s brother.”
Since Rain isn’t sure how to address a beta in this society, he just says, “Pleased to meet you, Khun.”
P’Phayu raises an eyebrow at this, and Saifah laughs so Rain assumes that isn’t the correct form of address.
“You can call me Sier Fah. No one uses Khun nowadays." he explains. He frowns as he feels Rain’s skin on his neck, “You are right, Phi, your boy is still too warm.”
Rain frowns at this, he is 19, not a child and he certainly doesn’t belong to the alpha. He chooses to ignore the thought that follows that he hadn’t minded when P’Phayu had called him “good boy”.
“Rain is it?” Fah asks and Rain nods, “Are you in pain anywhere?”
Rain takes stock of the way everything feels, “I have a mild headache and my shoulder hurts like a son of a bitch.”
P’Phayu draws in a hiss of breath at this and Fah snorts. “Let me take a look at your shoulder,” Fah says.
He examines Rain’s wound and says to P’Phayu, “This looks clean, no sign of an infection. If I had to guess I would say Rain has a mild cold from exposure causing him the fever. He should be fine in a day or two. Hmm maybe some porridge then you can give him those herbs I left you. Get some rest, Rainy boy I will check in on you later."
Rain nods, gratefully but at the same time he imagines his uncle’s reaction if he heard his nephew being called "Rainy Boy".
"I will get you some porridge then," P'Phayu says.
"But…." Rain starts to say he isn't hungry but P'Phayu looks back at him with a raised brow, "Yes P’Phayu." He finishes instead.
"So Sky, tell me all about yourself." P'Pai says. They are in what Sky can only think of as a carriage, although he has only read about them. The fact that it is very ornate and the inside seems luxurious clues Sky in that P'Pai is very important, very rich or both.
"What do you want to know?" Sky says with a frown. He's never been very good at small talk, usually he has Rain there to do enough talking for both of them.
"Everything, what’s your favorite food, what’s your favorite color, what do you do for fun, and most importantly," P'Pai pauses and gives Sky a charming smile, "Can I be your alpha?"
P'Pai grins as the omega looks at him in amazement. "What did you say?" Sky asks.
"That's not a no," P'Pai says.
"Well how about this then, not in this lifetime," Sky says. "Is that clear enough?"
"It is." P'Pai says not in the least deterred, "Is it also clear, my Sky, that intend pursue you and become your alpha?"
Sky opens his mouth and snaps it closed again. He is stunned speechless by the audacity of this guy.
The destination they arrive at is beyond doubt a palace. Sky had grown up in palaces but this one put those to shame. A white marble home that almost glowed in the moonlight. It was made up of several wings and three stories. The carriage parked on a gray cobblestone drive in front of the house. What Sky could see of the grounds were lush and immaculately kept.
"Where are we?" Sky asks.
"It's official name is jewel of the east wind, commonly though it's just called East Wind Palace." P'Pai tells him.
