Starr woke up with Avery gone. She shrugged it off, nearly forgetting what happened yesterday.
She saw people walking in and out frantically from a room she didn't remember anyone being in.After walking closer and closer, she heard cries from an older woman and a younger girl. Her eyes widened, more each time she stepped on. The wooden floor. The only sound she picked on was the creaking in each step she took.
She finally got through the door seeing Baldie and her daughter. The girl buried her face in her mom's stomach, the woman's hand was holding around her kid's neck, and the other was holding the hand of a younger girl that was with Carl the other day.
She felt a warm- soft hand on her shoulder, unhurriedly turning her around so she could walk away herself. Her eyes were wider than before, her mouth was slightly open. She gelt shocked and bad. her eyes started to tear up, she frantically wiped her eyes.
It just like how it was with dad.
"Uhm, the girl inside there got shot a couple of days ago, we didn't know that we did the surgery wrong and used dirty equipment so she got an infection. We are trying our best to disinfect it, but most of us think it's just too late" she explained looking at her. "The girl's name is or was Scarlett Peletier, her mom's name is Carol Peletier, and the daughter I saved, and you saw is Sophia Peletier." she continued, looking behind her worried. Starr shook her hand off and walked toward all the action, pushing everyone away just so she could see it better.
Carol and Sophia were holed up in a ball crying their eyes out. Rick looked around hoping for someone to come up with a solution but no one came or talked to him. He looked at the woman holding her child and shook his head. He was about to walk out until Daryl came in holding Avery by her upper arm-- he looked angry. He soon tossed her on the ground with a loud thunk that caused her knee to bleed.
"She knows what to do, but I don't think she will," he said throwing his arm up like he was about to punch someone.
"That's not what I said, I said I know how to help her but we don't have the right equipment, unless you want me to take hours on how to figure out how to do the surgery with wrong stuff!" she said standing up, she looked around annoyed. Hershel looked down and then at the girl in bed. Rick soon looked at him wondering what he should say to the annoyed pregnant woman, Hershel nodded soon looking at Rick hopefully."Fine do your job, but if it becomes stressful just let us know and we'll take care of it," he said looking at her with his rested face, not even a hinge of sorry in his facial expression.
She pushed him away and looked at the girl, not so hopeful as Hershel. "Listen I don't need some extra support because the daddy of my baby isn't alive or dead, and stress doesn't always cause miscarriage. I'm perfectly fine and I can do this by myself so shoo" she said and pushed everyone out, she sighed to herself and closed the door.
"What did she do that for?" asked Hershel confused since he is also a doctor, in the pet category. Rick was looking down confused as to what just happened.
"She was really rude to my dad," a boy said behind her. The girl turned around to see the boy from before.
"Carl, if you don't already know my name," he said kindly with a hint of annoyance. She looked down to the side as if he wasn't just talking about her favorite aunt. The girl's face looked up but her eyes were still looking to the side.
"Starr" she mumbled looking down. He smiled and pulled her away from all the chaos and stress. She looked down at his hand on hers. She then looked at him, he was trying so hard to not look like he was sad, he made all these different facial expressions to hide the ones that showed sadness.
