In the end can they just pretend?
Ronald Weasley had hit rock bottom, his life as he knew it was over. He had lost everything. Well not everything, but it felt like the life he had imagined for himself was over. And his family wasn't helping him. Th...

Ron Weasley was concerned. Not about himself or anything to directly do with himself for once. Actually things in his own life seemed to be progressing forwards in the right direction. No rather he was getting to become rather quite concerned about Claudia. The younger woman had made it a habit over the last fortnight to try to hunt him out a couple times a day just to check in on him, waste some time. Well, he wasn't quite sure on her motives behind it but he had become a little bit excited to see her during the work day. Or at least he had been feeling that way, until she had suddenly stopped doing so. He at first thought he was overreacting just a little bit, perhaps she had got caught up in something and just hadn't been able to escape to come and find him during the day like she usually would.
But then he had heard the rumours dancing around the different departments about one place in particular. The legal team. There was something catastrophically wrong going over in the legal team and it had meant all of the members were struggling. This information had been confirmed to him whilst sat in the lunch room. Where two of the women were talking rather loudly on the table across from him. One of them mentioned that her husband had been part of the legal department and despite not telling her exactly what was going on she knew it was a cluster of disasters. That she didn't expect her husband to be home that night or the next couple.
Ron knew Claudia was great at her job, for a lawyer so early in her career he knew she was making waves. It had been the reason the Ministry had gone out on a whim and hired her straight out of law school. It had been the reason she had risen through the ranks faster than usual. But he also knew that the higher up she was the more pressure on her to fix whatever was wrong. The more she was expected to perform despite having less than a year worth of experience. And no matter how strong you were that kind of pressure was a lot on a person. And therefore, he vowed that if she had yet to find him before he went home he would head out to find her. Because he wanted to give her his support. He wanted her to know he was there to help her.
Therefore, when 5pm passed on the clock. Ron stretched upon leaving his chair, happily watching as the sign at the front of the complaints office changed from open to closed. He would take his time walking the floor from his department to hers. Wondering just maybe if he would bump into her in the corridor. But he knew this was fruitful thinking, considering the fact that the rumours had only continued to progress as to what had gone wrong. Rather he slinked his way into the law office block. The one of which usually seemed much more at peace and pleasant. But this time, he could feel the stress seeping into his own body. Nobody sat at any of the desks looked as though they had turned their heads away from their work since they had turned up that morning.
That was a benefit however, as he was able to find Claudia's own office and head towards it without being stopped for once. Nobody even wanted to stop him to tease for him turning up once again. He knocked upon the door to the office expecting to hear some sort of response. But minutes would pass and he would hear nothing, and Ron knew this was not like Claudia. Therefore, he knocked once more. Yet when the same thing occurred Ron decided it would be best to just head inside. The door squeaked a little as he pushed it open yet the noise was not enough to draw the attention of Claudia who remained staring at something on her desk. Ron could see the sheer number of files around her and he knew from the way she looked that this was not going to end well for her.
