Psychologists say,
If a person laughs too much, even at stupid things, he is lonely deep inside.
If a person sleeps a lot, he is sad.
If a person speaks less but speaks fast, he keeps secrets.
If someone can't cry, he is weak.
If someone eats abnormally, he is in tension
If someone cries about little things, he is innocent & soft-hearted.
If someone becomes angry over silly or petty things, it means he needs love...
But what about when you feel numb?
No emotions, nothing. That's when you know you can't just get out of the ocean without a helping hand, a log that can support you.¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶
Everything was dark like someone sucked everything out of this world, my surroundings void of anything and then I felt something on my face, something wet and sticky...like saliva. My eyes immediately shot open to connect with the most innocent pair of eyes. A puppy. A puppy was on top of me, licking my face while Melcolm was sitting beside me and whispering, "Oi, oi, get down!"
When my eyes connected with Melcolm's, he gave me a sheepish smile and took the puppy off of me. "Hi," he said.
My head was pounding but I wanted to sit properly, seeing my struggle Melcolm rushed to help me. I flinched when he touched my arm but he didn't pay any mind to it even if he noticed.
I looked towards the puppy and was mesmerized, it was small, smaller than the usual pups, Melcolm then said that he found the pup on his way back home last week only, someone left him in an alley.
It was now understandable as to why the pup was so small. I was going to pet it but then my father and my brothers entered the room. The doctor one came forward and checked my blood pressure and asked, "When was the last time you had something to eat?"
"Yesterday?" I answered groggily, my throat still parched, and was thankful when my supposed father provided me with a glass of water.
"Your blood pressure and sugar levels were low, adding to the exhaustion from the flight and the drama, you fainted. That's normal, have something to eat, you'll be alright." I took a deep breath when he said that. I don't even remember his name but I nodded nonetheless.
"You need to eat, Valencia, it's important, you are already pretty small for your age," one said, I looked towards the source and it was a guy, maybe in his mid-twenties, he had a scrutinizing gaze, searching up my face, his eyes were so very identical to mine.
With that being said, he and my father left the room and the rest followed except for Melcolm and another one, he sat on his haunches beside the bed and whispered, "Hi, Bambina. How are you feeling?"
That question took me by surprise, it has been years since someone asked that. I gulped and said, "Fine."
"I'm Abaddon. I'm gonna be your favorite brother," he grinned as he said that which caused Melcolm to tsk.
"You and favorite? They don't belong in the same sentence, Don Don," the younger one said to his brother.
Abaddon then threw a pillow on his face while saying, "How many times do I have to tell you to not call me by that name."
Those two bickered while I watched them with my eyebrows raised in question. If this is how annoying sibling bond is, then I don't want it.
They stopped and Melcolm shouted, "LET'S GO ON A HOUSE TOUR, SISSY" but Abaddon interrupted him by saying I need food first. I followed both of them to the kitchen, my footsteps a lot slower and lighter than their big paws. (Sorry, I just had to 😭)
"You don't talk much, do you?" Melcolm assessed me as we entered the kitchen, I shook my head and he then replied, "Bleh, I think I'll have to do all the talking then."
"I'm gonna tell you, bambina, don't listen to his bullshit, he talks a lot, and he'll bore you a lot," that comment from Abaddon caused Melcolm to scowl at him.
(Y'all won't believe how long I had to search for a kitchen in which I could literally picture them together. Struggle. Struggle. Pain.)
"You both have pretty long names...can I call you Don and Mel?" I asked curiously because it was a hassle in my mind with such long names.
Both of them nodded and grinned like golden retrievers. Balls of sunshine much?
Don then gave me a plate of apples and berries that he sliced for me, I ate a few and then pushed the plate back towards him, he frowned but Mel wolfed the rest of the fruits down.
"Let's go on a house tour and introduction session, sis," Mel said enthusiastically and I nodded even though I didn't have much energy.
I'm gonna get lost in this house for sure.
