Planing An Event, With a Topping of Anxiety

VOID'S POV

We finish packing up everything from the failed picnic and we head back towards Mesagoza, "Why are we not just flying there?" Mela questions, I grin under my mask, this was a simple answer, "The taxi can't carry a expensive table set like this, or any of the other stuff." I reply, she sighs and then glares at me for a moment, "Guys we're at the gate." Eri announces, I look up and see one of the gates to enter Mesagoza, I run ahead of everyone, and turn around when I reach the gate, they had started running too, I turn around again and start opening the gate, I walk through and wait for the others to reach me, "Why do we always have to run everywhere?" Mela breathes, I laugh and look around, I immediately regret this though, as I'm met with uncertain gazes of strangers, I can feel my shoulders tense, I blink and look down, They all must hate me..why else would they look at me like this? Is it because of my mask? I start trembling, and I hear the whispers from the other Team Star Leaders, were they worried? Or.. the opposite..?

ORTEGA'S POV

I stared in horror as Void started quivering, suddenly she shrunk back, I frowned, she had said before that she had social anxiety.. I looked around at the people that were scattered around the entrance, they all had uncertain.. glares.. if that's a thing.. I look at Void again, she looked nervous, and tense, I turn around to look at the others, "Eri.. we should take her back to my dorm." I suggest, she nods and walks casually towards Void and suddenly picks her up, we all start running, "Why more running?" Mela shouts, I laugh and keep running, eventually we get to what all the students call; 'The Staircase to the Distortion World', it was a fitting name, considering the Distortion world was ruled by a dark god or something, school might as well be the Distortion World for the victims of the bullying, I sigh and start going up the stairs, about halfway up my legs started burning, I pause for a moment and look back at the other Team Star Leaders, they looked exhausted, but determined, I look back ahead towards Eri, she kept going, I could hear her breathing heavily, but she kept on moving up the stairs, I hesitate for a split moment and follow her, we eventually make it inside the Academy itself, earning a few confused looks as we raced through the halls, we run to my dorm room and Eri finally lets go of Void, Mela closes the door, I look around and frown, where was Atticus? I look at my kitchen, there he was, sitting on the fridge, I sigh and walk over to my bed, where Void was now sitting, her mask was now off, everyone else took a seat somewhere, and Eri starts the conversation we had all known was going to start, "How do we help you with this?" She asks Void, I stare at the floor, this conversation was going to go completely wrong, I look back up at Void to see her looking away, almost in my direction, her facial expression looked.. blank.. but not quite at the same time, more stressed than anything else, I realize that she was quivering slightly, what was I supposed to do? I clenched my fist and sent a look that I hoped said, "Don't talk about it anymore." I glanced wearily back at Void, she was in the same position as before, but her facial expression looked.. helpless.. I look back at the other Team Star Leaders, they had all gotten the message, "Well, what's the plan for this sleepover?" Giacomo asks, trying to break the tension, "Food. We couldn't eat anything 'cause those Pokemon took our food." Mela suggests, I nod, and Giacomo looks up from his laptop that he had somehow brought out in the short amount of time that had passed, "We should just order pizza, it's a classic for this sort of thing." he replies, I look at Eri, who was frowning slightly, "I don't like junk food that much but it's fine." she agrees, I notice her gaze flickering guiltily at Void every so often, "I'll buy it," I immediately suggest, "But, Void.. is pizza fine with you?" she looks up at me, "S-sure." she stops looking off to the side, but instead looks down at the tiled floor, "Momo, how much is the pizza?" I ask him, he looks up at me, "Depends on how much we want." he answers simply, I fumble through the many hidden pocket of my suit, and eventually find the one I want, I grin and grab a handful of it's contents, I throw them up into the air, "Ortega! What is thy doing? Money is to be saved! Not Wasted!" Atticus shouts at me, I keep grinning, Mela picks up one of the Pokedollars and examines it, "Ortega..?" she questions me, I look at her, still grinning, "W-why are these all 5,000 Pokedollars?" she asks, I look around the room, everyone looked relatively surprised, except Void, whose face was back being to a blank slate, "I'm rich, so why NOT?" I reply, Giacomo looks at me, "Dude, you surely don't have enough money to throw it around everywhere do you?" he asks, I laugh and nod, "Why else would I buy that fancy table, or bring us on that shopping spree?" I smile and reach back into my pocket and grab another handful, but I don't throw it everywhere, "Is this why you get bullied?" Mela asks, I stare at her, dropping all of the enthusiasm I carried before, I looked away sadly, there was an awkward silence before I felt a hand on my shoulder, I look down and grit my teeth, it was Void, I could tell by the way she did it, "We're all bullied for reasons, Ortie.." Void says, I slowly turn to face her, I spot movement from the corner of my eye, Eri had raised her hand, "We should all just go around and say what we're bullied for.. if that's fine with you all." she suggests, Void looks up, "I'll go first, I'm bullied for my mask and.. this is weird but- being smarter than them." she says, "That last one I can relate to, all the girls are jealous of how cute I am." Mela shrugs, Giacomo nods, "Not at all related to those, but.." he pauses, looking nervous, everyone looks at him questioningly, "I'm the Student Council President.. the bullies think my rules are too strict.." he finishes, me and Atticus glance at each other, "You're the one who came up with that 'Male students hair can't go longer than 1.8 inches below the nape'?!" I exclaim, Void frowns at me, "That could suck, but Momo, what about YOUR hair?" Giacomo laughs mischievously, "It's not below the nape! It's sticking straight up!" he laughs, everyone gives him a blank stare, "So that's why, huh." Mela comments, Atticus jumps off the fridge, landing almost silently, "I trust thee know the reasoning behind the tyrannizing." he says simply, everyone nods, and we all look over to Eri and she frowns slightly, "Mine's complicated.. basically when I enrolled at the Academy, in one of my classes, there was a Class Queen; Carmen, when I walked in the door, I basically was crowned immediately, but Carmen got jealous and got other girls to start bullying me, and that's how it is now.." Eri explained, Mela shook her head, "That's kinda similar to mine." Mela sympathizes, "Well, everyone pick up all this money and keep it! Then, it's sleepover time!" I exclaim, I pause for a moment when everyone stares at me in shock, "Consider it getting payed to clean my room." I suggest, Giacomo nods and starts picking up the Pokedollars scattered across the floor, I notice that Void was still sitting, I reach in the pocket again, and pull out some more Pokedollars, I put them in front of her face and she looks up, clearly surprised, "Do you always pay people like this?" she asks, I shrug in response, and she takes the currency from my hands, I jump up to Giacomo's laptop and start buying pizza, when I finished, I looked over at Giacomo, who was staring at me, "How much did you buy..?" he asks, I laugh and reply.

"Two, it's not that much, just for the record, I don't understa-".

I finished this sooner than I thought I would, I actually think this is my best Chapter so far.. hope you like the next one! Then.. wow... it's off to 'A Shadow Inside'.
