Safely in my room, I kick off my heels triumphantly and dived on to my bed. "WHEEE!"
I felt relief, it was over. It was finally ov- "Miss Esmeralda?" It was a maid... Iris?
I sat up quickly, "Come in please."
The maid came in, head bowed. "The prince is on the television."
"Oh," I said lamely.
"Mistress would like you downstairs." I noticed her eyes fly to where my kicked off heels were.
I squirmed uncomfortably. "You may leave."
The maid nods quickly and rushed off.
I stood up, picked up my shoes and put them on quickly. I picked up my skirt and rushed downstairs. "Yes, mother?"
"Do not run in your dress!" Mother's eyes narrowed. "Come, sit with me."
I said nothing.
"Let's see who the Prince picks."
I shuffled to the opposite end to sit with Astrella- who was burying her head in a book.
"Astrella!" Mother snapped, "Pay attention!"
Astrella groaned and leaned her head on my shoulder to watch television.
Derek Ule was grinning in the screen. "We Today, we are joined with our royal family, the Schreaves!" He continued. "Today, Prince Adrian will reveal the 65 lucky selected girls of Ìllea." He turned to the Royal Family. "Queen Divine (Div-eenee), any words you would like to say?"
The Queen stood up graciously. "Don't try if you know you're never gonna get a chance." Her lips were twisted up. She looked haughty.
"Alright." Says Derek, a little unsure of the Queen's attitude. After all, Derek was a six before King Tristan- who was King Xavier's father (Queen Divine's husband)- found him and made him the reporter for events.
Derek turns to King Xavier, "Your majesty," he said bowing, "Have you, by any chance, already seen the selected girls?"
King Xavier shook his blonde head, "My Queen picked out everything." His eyes were filled with love for Queen Divine.
Queen Divine smirked, and patted her brown up do. "I only pick those who are worthy."
Derek nodded. Being his usual charismatic self, he slipped out of the awkward situation easily, "Join me in congratulating the selected!" He waved his hands in the air.
Prince Adrian stepped forward, his auburn colored hair slicked back. He started reading as the monitor left a small square for his reaction of each photo.

Allens, Miss Cassandra Sanome, Two- she was a black haired girl with caramel colored skin. Her eyes were an amazing shade of green.
Allens, Miss Kandy Collin, Three- she was a girl with short blonde hair and pink highlights.
Atlin, Miss Zoe Tames, Three- she had amazing sun kissed skin with brown eyes.
Atlin, Miss Ninta Lowe, Five- she had puffy black curls and white porcelain skin.
Baffin, Miss Florile Wendys, Two- with her regal features and a delicate frame, she already looked like a Princess.
Baffin, Miss Delaney Eddson, Four- she has straight blonde hair that seemed to be bleached and soft rosy skin.

"Mother, may I grab a glass of water?" I stood up gracefully.
Seeing me stand up, Astrella also jumped up, "Me too!"
Mother stared at us, "You may go, Esmeralda." She touches her face, "Astrella, you need to be ladylike!" She snaps, "Sit!"
"Yeah, yeah." Muttered Astrella.
I chuckled.
