Insouciant (Adj.) Free from worry and concern. //////////////////////// Sofie Baylor, incredible businesswoman. Not everyone loves seeing a Queen at the top of a so called... 'mans world.' Especially one who just seemed to pop out of no where. They say she's cruel. They say she's evil. Yet would they listen or respect her is she wasn't? She is barely an adult. But she had to grow up too fast. They claim she's perfect. The outside world adore her. Even though they are the ones who ignored her in the first place. ---------- "You know nothing about me. You know my name, not my story. You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through. If you were in my shoes... you'd fall the first step." "You can be read like a book Miss Baylor." I continue to walk out of the room... "... you may be able to read, but your comprehension skills need to be reviewed. A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on."

An Introduction There are a lot of things that worry me- running, saying "hi" to people in the hallway, the inevitable demise of Earth via wormhole, and most of all making choices. And though this collection started off as a reflection on my last visit to India, during the summer of 2010, it strayed from course. It came to be a collection of pieces about anything that inspired me to write. Thus, I figured this would be better served as an introduction to what first inspired me to put pen to paper. As a child I combatted the aforementioned worries( running, wormhole, choices etc) alongside my equal parts stubborn and loyal imaginary friend, Lola, who was based loosely on the fiery redheaded sister from the cartoon about the pre-maturely balding four year old, Caillu. However, as I got older and it became culturally inappropriate to have entire conversations with myself in public, I began jotting these thoughts down. I wrote about the Martians I insisted inhabited space instead of recording phases of the moon in my lunar log, and created backstories for the bird inside our cookoo clock. This collection of pieces isn't much different, yes it stems from that trip, the cultural differences between India and America, but beyond that it is a series of my purely fictional accounts of some of my observations. I would also like to add that the poems are not necessarily from my pov even when I use "I".

Glass Weather" explores the architecture of power inside institutional spaces-how visibility can distort as much as it reveals. The poem extends the metaphor of glass beyond the familiar ceiling, imagining an entire climate shaped by inheritance, tone, and unspoken agreements. I was interested in stillness as a form of authority: influence that does not announce itself, resistance that does not always roar. The speaker navigates systems that test gravity unevenly, where identity refracts experience rather than dilutes it. Ultimately, this poem asks what it means to inhabit space without shrinking, to remain intact without hardening, and to recognize that sometimes the barrier was never as solid as it seemed.

An Introduction (Short Version) by Ægidius January 2014 Ægidius is the nom de plume of a well known (but very poor) Architect. His writings are based upon his experience of living with people for over 60 years. (60 years wasted!!) These short stories are full of murder, fraud, deceit, slander, hatred, outright rudeness, ethnic conflict, stupidity and all the usual conceits of respectable people. People much like your family in fact. These stories are based on careful observation of the truth inherent in modern Australian life. Which is why I insist on their placement in the fiction section.

"We own nothing, but we are happy..." "We are one with the Blessed, and the Blessed are one with us." It's the mantra we live by, like my name. Not the whole thing, I mean. Mantra. That's my name. I'm 17, and about to graduate school to be assigned a lifelong partner and task so I can contribute the best I have to the community I serve. We serve. The Blessed Ones saved our civilization from catastrophe, and we honor them by giving back to the community, working as a whole to make sure nobody goes hungry, or sleeps outside, or is alone ever again. Tasks are separated by colors- Blue for education, Purple for medical, Gold for political, Red for military, and so on. There are rules to live by. Of course, there always are. Rules keep us safe. Noone will have to face the Five Stages of Regret unless they break those rules. Like the group of terrorists that call themselves the HONEST. They insist that we are in real danger, that we don't belong here and if we don't escape we will all die. Escape from what? We are all happy. Perfectly...happy...

This is just a short, self-indulgent ficlet of what happened after the credits of 'The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals'. Primarily, how the brood handled Emma's assimilation-there was an implication in the show and I found it interesting that the infected never tried... what they try here. Also, I wrote this during a study hall after my first or second viewing of the show, so its quality and compliance with my current ideas about the canon of the universe may be lacking, but I hope it's enjoyable nonetheless!
