A/N: An extra long chapter for the extra long wait💘

Eddie

I'm nervous. Shaking. Sweating. Today is the day that I'm going to tell Chris about Buck and I. I know I shouldn't be worried, that Christopher loves Buck as much as I do, but that was when Buck and I were just friends. Now that we're more than that, I don't know how he's going to take it. If he's not okay with this.... It breaks my heart to even think it...but if Chris isn't okay with this, I have to end it. Chris's happiness is more important to me than anything.

My hands continue to shake as I try to button my pants. I take a deep breath and try to relax as I finish getting ready for work. I head down the hall to Chris's room, but his bed is already made and he's already gone. I smile to myself and head to the kitchen, where Chris is already waiting with a bowl of cereal in front of him and one on the table next to him. "Hi Dad," he says, jaws still full of cereal."

I chuckle at him and ruffle his hair. "Good Morning buddy." I sit next to him and dig into my bowl of cereal, the crunching of our Cap'n Crunch deafening me as I try to find the right words. Seconds turned to minutes and our breakfast is finished before I finally speak. "Hey buddy. I wanna talk to you about something." I clear my throat. Chris looks innocently at me. "I've been seeing someone, but I wanted to know what you think about it before we go any further." I wait with baited breath for his answer.

Chris doesn't answer right away, which worries me. I don't know how long he stays silent, but it feels like ages before he finally answers. "I guess if she makes you happy and likes video games, it's okay with me." I chuckle, feeling my heart swell with joy. Here I am worrying about Chris's happiness when he's worrying about mine.

I hesitate before correcting him. "He, actually." I look at Chris expectantly, nervous about his reaction.

"So you're dating a guy?" He questions.

"Yeah," I gulp. "Are you okay with that?" I'm sweating again.

Chris takes a swig of his orange juice before answering again. "As long as you're happy with him and he's nice to you."

Tears begin to form in my eyes, but I blink them back. "He is," I laugh. "He's very nice to me."

"So what's his name?"

Before I can answer him, the doorbell rings. "Actually, that's him now." I stand and head to the door, Chris standing up to follow me. I take a deep breath before opening the door.

Buck is standing there wearing a pair of gray sweats and black hoodie, his duffel bag slung over his shoulder, smiling widely at me. I lean in to give him a quick peck, but he goes in for more. Not too much since Chris is standing there watching, but a slower, more romantic, sweet kiss. "Good morning to you too," I chuckle nervously, scared to death to look at Chris. Buck and I look over at him to see his jaw practically on the floor. "Chris—"

Before I can finish, he starts speed walking over to us, hugging us both, a huge smile on his face. "I knew it!"

Buck barks out a loud laugh. "Oh you did, did you?" Chris nods quickly, still smiling and squeezing us. "Smart kid." Buck looks up to see me staring at him, grinning widely at the two loves of my life.

**********

After dropping Chris off at school, Buck and I ride to work together. On the way we discuss how we are going to tell everyone about us. We decide the best way to break the ice with our relationship is to just act like we're in a relationship. What we didn't expect was for the 118 not to say anything about it.

Together we stroll hand in hand into the station, I tip my head back to laugh at something Buck just told me and the grin it brings does not fade as we make our way to the locker room to change. Even in there, there's hip checks and playful shoves and still no one says a word. Chimney tries not to give anything away as he looks between the two of us and Hen has a broad grin on her face that probably has nothing to do with us. No one else says anything past normal pleasantries. Even Ravi who is almost as bad as Chimney when it comes to gossip doesn't comment on our behavior.
