CHARLIE
__________

Next thing I know it, I'm right on top of Liz, staring into her eyes. Never really got a good look at them before. Now that I realize them, they may be one of my new favorite parts about her.

Our faces immediately look as if we got bad, bad sunburn. It almost feels like it, too. Our eyes go wide and I quickly get off of her.

"I-I'm sorry-"

She giggles. "Charlie, you're fine. We just fell."

Yep, that's embarrassing.

"S-sorry."

She gets up and extends her hand, motioning to let me let her help me up.

I take her hand, and stand up. She lets go of my hand, reluctantly.

"Don't apoligize, Silly." She looks behind us and smirks. "The race never even ended."

She starts to sprint as fast as she can to the waiting room.

"You-"

I don't have the time to finish that insult. I sprint after her.

After about only a second, I catch right up to her and take the lead.

"Ha!" I laugh as I cross the "finish line." In other words, the doorway of the waiting room.

About half a second later, she comes running through the doorway next to me, panting.

"You have asthma, but I'm the one out of breath," She laughs.

"Charlie!" My dad shouts from across the room. He hurries over to me and hugs me way too tight, practically squishing me. "No running!" He warns, "You're still not comepletely better yet."

I pull away from him. "Dad, I'm fine. Like Liz said, my neck got injured, not my legs."

He is just silent. Parents...

Suddenly, Sammy runs up and hugs me. Well, kind of. He really just squeezed my legs.

"Hi, Sammy." I look down at my brother.

"Charwie!" He exclaims in his toddler voice.

"Yup, I'm Charlie." I ruffle his hair. After a moment, he lets go of me.

"Elizabeth, your father is away on a vacation with your mother for two weeks," My father starts, Beth looks annoyed at her parents. "So you'll be having to stay with us." Her face lights up and a huge smile spreads across her face. Same for me.

Me and Eli both sprint through the hospital doors and to the car and swing the back doors open.

"A two. Week. Sleepover. This is gonna be awesome!" We exclaim in unison.

We start chattering, and around two minutes later, my dad and Sammt enter the car, and it takes off.
