you made it to work earlier than you were supposed to since jungwoo proposed the idea to show you around before you were to be mentored by yuta.

"and this is the employees bathroom" he points at two very obvious doors.

"...is there really no one else that can mentor me?" you ask unrelatedly.

"well, the thing is- yuta has been here for years and the rest of the waiters have just joined this year. the only other staff that has been here for longer are the ones in the kitchen" he explains as he rubs the back of his head.

"oh, okay. sorry to bother you about it" you apologize in embarrassment.

"that's alright, i know he's not the most friendly person out there" he says and you both chuckle.

"so, in the meantime you want me to memorize the menu?" you ask him and he nods.

"mhm, and once yuta gets here he should be able to show you everything else you need to know" he reassures you.

"okay, thank you" you say to him and he leaves to go attend the kitchen.

looking through the menu, you realized there weren't as many options as you thought there would be. but again, it was because it's a high-end restaurant where everything is good so.

an hour went by in the break room before someone opened the door rather harshly.

it was none other than yuta.

you quickly closed the menu and stood up. you knew yuta wouldn't want to waste any second so you wanted to do things before he asked you to do them.

things actually didn't go as bad as you thought they were gonna go. yuta just had a monotone voice on the while time and wouldn't spare you a glance but besides that, you were able to learn pretty easily.

he first showed you how to write the orders down on your notepad. then, how to take it to the kitchen and how to make the most popular drinks. he showed you the dessert items and their correct plating. the last thing he showed you was how to collect dirty dishes and where to put them as well as how to thoroughly clean the tables.

that was all before you were assigned to only clean after costumers left for the rest of the day.

you didn't know restaurants had waiters and waitresses doing this much. no wonder this is a well paid job in the middle of the city.

once you saw it was close to the end of your shift, you remembered yuta said he was going to make you do everything he taught you before you left. groaning, you went to go find yuta.

he was talking to another waitress so you stood nearby. he turned around when he was done and he looked like he knew what you were waiting for. the small smile on his face disappeared quite quickly.

"i'm ready" you tell him as you approached him.

he nods and you begin to do everything exactly as he showed you.

of course, not everything went smoothly.

you were just about to place a piece of cake on a plate when you slightly twisted the utensil wrong and the cake fell flat on the floor.

"shit..." you mutter under your breath.

you couldn't help but freeze. you felt as his eyes bore onto you, probably wanting to strangle you right there and then.

you slowly look up to meet his eyes and you took in his death glare along with his crossed arms as he leaned against the wall.

"what are you waiting for? pick it up and throw it away" he snaps you out of it.
