I'll Outlive You 2/2

Smg3 and Smg4 were trying to walk out of the village when Smg4 had accidentally bumped into someone. “Oops, sorry” he said, apologizing for bumping into the person. The person looked down at Smg4 suspiciously. Smg3 looked at who Smg4 had bumped into and realized it was Peach. "Are you, Smg4 by any chance?" She asked. Before Smg4 could answer, Smg3 grabbed his hand and started to speed walk away with him.

Peach grabbed Smg4s’ shoulder “You didn't answer my question” she stated, squeezing his shoulder a bit tight. Smg4 winced due to the pain. Smg3, noticing this, got pissed and smacked Peach's hand from Smg4's shoulder. Peach looked at SMG3 and immediately recognized him, "well…hello Smg3" she said with a smug grin “looks like i found you, and your Mortal” she said continuing to sounding smug and proud of herself.

“Don't. Touch. Him.” Smg3 stated in a serious tone looking at Peach with a death stare. “You can't hurt any of us. You're Mortal now, remember? There's nothing you can do to keep him safe.” She stated, sounding more smug. “True, but at least I actually spent time with the man I fell for, instead of killing him like you did to Mario” Smg3 said smugly but sternly. Peach looked pissed and was about to strike Smg3 with her whip but an arrow shot between the two.

Smg3 and Peach looked at the direction the Arrow came from, and saw Meggy. “Peach. We’re only here to get The Mortal, not Smg3” She stated, looking at Peach with a glare. Smg4 had stood quiet not knowing how to react, he didn't want to die, but he also knew him and Smg3 would be in big trouble if he didnt die. Smg3 took the opportunity to carry Smg4 in his arms and get away, since he knew Peach would just start to argue with Meggy.

“Smg3, I think things are going to get worse if you keep trying to save me” Smg4 said, looking up at  Smg3, while still being carried by him. Smg3 stayed quiet, carrying him for a bit. They got to the forest and Smg3 gently put Smg4 down “...I don't want to lose you…” he said. Smg4 looked at him then looked down to the side and hugged him gently “I don't want to lose you either…”. Smg3 hugged him back a bit tight but not to the point it would hurt him.

Smg4 wanted to tell Smg3 what he was thinking of doing but he knew if he did, Smg3 wouldn't let him. They hugged for a bit and then went into the cave behind the waterfall. It was the afternoon by then. They stayed in the cave with a bit of awkward silence until “...Smg4…i'm sorry…”. Smg4 looked at Smg3 and he had a worried expression. “...” Smg4 started to tear up. Smg3 hugged him feeling so much guilt seeing Smg4 starting to cry.

Smg3 wanted to apologize repeatedly to Smg4, he didn't want to see Smg4 sad, or cry, he started to hate himself. All he could do was hug Smg4 while he was crying, and comfort him. It hurt him so badly hearing him cry. He hugged Smg4 tighter “...im sorry…” he said starting to tear up. Smg3 was silently crying, hugging Smg4. They stayed hugging each other for a bit until Smg3 had fallen asleep. He was exhausted from keeping Smg4 safe from the gods.

Smg4 looked up at Smg3, he could see tear stains going down his face. Smg4 gently wiped the stains away and laid Smg3 down onto the bed. He stood over Smg3’s sleeping body, debating if he should go with his plan. He decided he should, so he wiped his tears, wrote a note for Smg3 (for when he wakes up), gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek whispering 3 words, and walked out of the cave to the direction of the village.

After a few minutes Smg3 woke up to the whisper Smg4 saying 3 words, ‘I love you’. When he woke up he noticed Smg4 was gone, then he noticed a note that was left next to him. It read:

Smg3, I'm going to the village. I'm turning myself into the gods. I don't want to put you or anyone else in danger. Please don't worry for me. You will always have my heart, I love you.

‘Nonononononono’ Smg3 thought to himself. He immediately rushed to the village. There in the middle he saw Meggy, Peach, and Smg4. Meggy had a look of painful guilt, Peach on the other hand looked smug, happy even. Peach had her whip wrapped around Smg4’s wrist. Meggy was a few feet in front of them. She took a breath in and aimed her bow at Smg4’s heart. She closed her eyes and let go of the arrow. “NO!” Smg3 yelled.

She opened her eyes and was put into a state of shock. She dropped her bow and covered her mouth. Peach released her whip from Smg4’s wrist out of shock. Smg3 was hugging Smg4 protecting him from the arrow, but he was the one to get shot in the process. The arrow was deep into his back. Smg3 slowly dropped to the floor, Smg4 held him in his arms trying to process what happened, and Smg4 started to cry.

“H-hey…don't *cough* cry…” Smg3 said looking up at Smg4, who had tears coming down his face. “W-why…” Smg4 said with a worried expression. “I love you…thats why…” Smg3 responded with a gentle smile, blood coming from his mouth, his right hand was on the side of Smg4’s face. “Y-you're not going to die…r-right…?” Smg4 asked desperately as more tears came down his face.

“...My love…please…don't cry…*cough* *cough* this isn't a goodbye forever…it's just…a goodbye till next time” Smg3 replied still with a gentle smile. “...b-but i don't want to say goodbye at all…” Smg4 retorted, still crying. “It's just for now…i promise you'll see me again…” Smg3 said wiping Smg4’s tears, “I love you Smg4, I always will…never forget that…” He said giving one final kiss to Smg4 before he closed his eyes and stopped breathing.

M- hope you liked the short story. I'm very tired right now and need to sleep. Also I have another book called 'Story Updates' and it's just for me to put updates on the stories I'm working on Incase I haven't posted anything.
