Had to bust out a bonus to announce that I've uploaded a new book that you can now check out in my profile!
Heels Under Heads
Alvie Monroe has everything a woman could want: a house that gleams like it's never been lived in, a husband whose name opens doors, and days with more hours than she could spend. Her days are quiet, her marriage average, and her reflection a little less familiar each time she looks.
In comparison was Atlas Jaxon, with a life so reckless that no one's seen him in years.
But when a twist in the family business lands unsolicited responsibility on his shoulders, Atlas does what any self-respecting trust fund disaster would do to save his inheritance: come home and comply. The job? Win over John Monroe. Get his trust. Get his friendship. Get his signature.
Don't fuck up. Don't look at his wife, don't think about his wife, and don't ever touch his wife.
But going back... here's a bonus chapter I've kept in the vault for special occasions. I figured that the launch of HUH x the holidays is a perfect chance. Enjoy. Xx.
• GIANNA ALEXIE •
I can't guess what my father would've thought about Keenan. He died too early for me to gain a full understanding of his personality and thus, the way he mind worked and the way he would judge people. In consolidation, I'd say he would've liked Keenan. But to make up for the living role was my step-dad, Russell, who had his big arms crossed and face giving to much away as he stared Keenan from foot to hair, hair to foot.
"Russell, uh, this is Keenan," I waved in between them. Although Keenan was taller, Russell's horizontally large figure didn't let him get overshadowed.
"And Keenan, this is Russell, my step-dad," I waved again.
Keenan's face was blank as always. It was weird. Keenan didn't necessarily look young and to see him in the role of what should've been my high school sweetheart's was almost comical. This was a nearly middle-aged adult being introduced like a seventeen-year-old prom date. In a tuxedo and everything too.
You might be wondering: Keenan in a tuxedo? That's hot.
Yes, it is. Very hot that I wasn't able to stop myself from reaching for his unmentionables before we landed. What happened next was the most intense fifteen minutes of my life. Although I'm thankful that my cousin found the love of his life and invited me to the wedding, what I'm more thankful for was the chance to force Keenan into a tuxedo.
"Nice to meet you, Killian," said Russell, face unchanging.
"You too. It's Keenan, sir," said Killian.
So far, he was behaved. When I got the invite, I was hesitant to make Keenan my date. Although I'd love for him to meet my family, it was quite worrying. There are three people who possibly would not behave: first, Lauren Alexie, with a large possibility percentage. Next, Keenan Travino, with no explanation needed. And lastly, Russell Hanks, cloudy with a chance of backfire.
My mom's excitement brought the verdict though. Honestly, I think I was only invited so that they'd have an excuse to meet him. Three weddings in the past have gone by without the enthusiasm of calling me to attend.
"Glad you could make it," said Russell, face still the same.
Whereas my boyfriend and I were formally dressed, he hasn't gotten ready yet and was still lounging in a vest, cargo pants, a trucker hat, and mismatched socks. Mom, on the other hand, was taking forever in the bathroom. Her words before we arrived: I don't want Keenan to think I'm some hillbilly.
