(Nataly's POV):
As I woke up on this fine sunny morning in Radiator Springs, a wave of sickness washed over me. The rays of sunlight filtering through the window seemed harsh, intensifying the ache in my head. I struggled to shake off the grogginess, realizing that today would be challenging.
I drove a bit and stretched my tires, feeling the pounding sensation on my helm. The cheerful chirping of birds outside the Cozy Cone window amplifies my unease. I took a deep breath, hoping to take a breather away from the crowd, but it only made me more aware of the sickness in my engine. With a heavy sigh, I moved towards my stuff to look for my medication and realized I felt slightly unsteady on my tires. As I went into the car wash, where I secretly but surprisingly found no one in here, and went to help myself with the water, I glanced around the place only to realize it was going to be 7 a.m. soon, "Red, I know you do not talk much but promise me that you wouldn't make much noise for the others to know of my fever?" The reflecting it by staring back at me appeared tired and drained, mirroring my feelings. Red nods with a hum of approval and splashes cold water on my hood.
And just as the clock struck 7 in the morning, the splash of cold water was dried up by the sun, and the coolness provided a brief moment of relief. But as soon as I straightened up, the dizziness returned. The thought of facing the day earlier appeared daunting, but I knew I couldn't let this sickness hold me back. So, I decided to get a new set of tires for the day.
---Luigi's tires shop---
Once I found them cleaning the shop windows, Luigi talked to Guido about something in Italian, which I thought it was; smiling at the thought of them reminded me of my brother. We would have stayed talking for hours until it was lunchtime. Damn, I do miss being young, but anyways, I cleared my windpipe to get the car's attention. Once they saw me, Guido immediately spoke: "Hello! What can I do for you, Nataly!" "I was wondering if you could let me get a new pair of tires?" When I said that, Luigi got ecstatic as he parked next to me while Guido prepared my station so I could park at the back; he started changing my tires at top speed, Leaving me shocked and amazed by how quick he was on his wheels to set new pair of black tire ones.
"Wow, Guido, Luigi! You both amaze me!" I complimented them.
"Haha! I knew you would love it!" "I should pay for the tires." I was about to pay, but Guido shook his helm and smiled: "No, no, no! It's yours! On the house, remember?" Before I could say anything, the wave of my helm began burning up my engine, and suddenly, I felt weak and lightheaded. Guido noticed the change in my demeanor and quickly came to my aid.
"Are you alright, Nataly?" Guido asked with concern in his eyes. I tried to reassure him with a weak smile. "I'll be fine, just a little fever. It'll pass." But Guido wasn't convinced. "You shouldn't be driving in this state. Let me get you some organic oil, and you can rest for a while."
Luigi, who had finished changing my tires, chirped in Italian, " 'He's right, Nataly. You should take it easy.' " Feeling grateful for their kindness, I shook my helm with a no and drove out of the store, only this time, to cough a bit which was noticeable by Ramone, who caught me driving slowly as my vision got hazy and blurry: "Oof, you ok?" "I'm fine...I...need..." Then, I just shut down in the middle of the road without knowing the rest since I just passed out.
(Doc Hudson's POV): Medical clinic...
Checking on the documents on my desk, a sudden knock distracted me from reading towards the door. It did not look so and answered with a short "Come in" when suddenly, Ramone came in with Mater behind him and entered the clinic, only for them to bring a passed-out Nataly into my clinic. I widen my eyes, alarmed by this, and turn to face them in shock: "What happened?" I questioned. Ramone started explaining how he found her across the road from Luigi's Tires shop. My doctoring skills kicked in my engine, and I began examining her.
"And that's about it, man." Ramone finished, "Do ya want us to get Luigi and Guido, Doc?" Mater asked, and I told him: "Yes, it would be wise. Thank you, Ramone and Mater; you both may go." With that, the two cars left me to work with Nataly; while I was worrying about her, Luigi and Guido explained the beginning. It seemed like Nataly experienced some health issues with her weak tires, possibly related to her fever and weakness, which led her to pass out while driving in the sun. As a medical professional, I immediately seek to assess her condition and provide appropriate care.
I begin by examining Nataly, checking her vital signs, and trying to determine the cause of her sudden collapse. Mater and Ramone likely explained the situation to me, providing any additional information they had about her symptoms and what happened before she passed out. I ran some tests during the examination, not knowing why I did not consider asking Nataly if she had any medical history. I tried to pinpoint the underlying cause of her condition. Depending on my findings, I may decide on the appropriate course of treatment, which could involve administering fluids and medications or recommending further medical evaluation.
A soft, weak groan echoed; I turned to a halt and turned to see her yellow eyes slightly opening by the bright light: "Hello, Doc..." Nataly weakly replied; I stopped at what I was doing and drove up to her by checking her temperature with a thermometer, and watched her headlights burn up as a result of her high fever to increase, "How are you feeling?" I softly asked.
"A little lightheaded, but I am alright. It is just a fever." Nataly replied with a smile before I gave her a severe look of concern by driving up a bit closer to her:
"Are you sure?" I raised an eyebridge. (eyebrow)
"I-I a-am quite sure. Why?" 'She sounds adorable when she stutters.' I thought before I chuckled at her, as Nataly's yellow eyes met my blue ones, those eyetooken my breath away as I let out a sharp vent that I had never known about so, as quietly as possible for Nataly to not pick up on it; I cough out in embarrassment at how I felt my engine pumping rapidly whenever she was close and from afar: "B-Because...As a doctor, judge, and CEO of this town, I was concerned for you and was responsible for ensuring that the residents are healthy...but also I am-" Nataly cut me off, "Scared to lose me?" I got startled by her bluntness and faced her with uncertainty about how much I, as an old car, could feel cowardice towards a woman's car like Nataly's. But instead of telling on how I felt, I scolded and lectured her on being more careful.
"Thank you, Doc. I'll be careful next time." Nataly nodded before I mumbled, "You are stubborn..." After I checked on her health, I recommended she stay in my clinic for a few days until she felt better again. On the first night in the clinic, I told Nataly that I had to monitor her in case her high fever did not worsen; She agreed after I explained that we would be sharing the clinic bed. It was awkward at first, but we managed to be comfortable.
Too comfortable that around midnight, I could not sleep when Nataly was recharging next to me. That's when I felt her hood and side burning up as I hesitantly moved closer to ease her. And this went on until Nataly was fast asleep, and I slowly did the same.
Five days later...
Being bed-rested in the clinic had finally come to an end. I had left a note before I stretched my tires and drove forward. Without damaging my office, I put it on her headlights and looked at it before going for a drive. After racing around the dirt, I headed over to Flo's Cafe, drank my usual oil, and ordered an organic oil for Nataly to drink later on as I watched the others, Probably talking about Mater's pranks he used to do earlier on the Sheriff. Only to be interrupted when Sally and Nataly came in: "Morning everyone!" "Morning Miss Sally and Nataly!" Everyone welcomed them. Thinking I would not stay long, but it turns out I am.
"Hello Nataly, did you take your medication as I requested in the morning?" I sternly asked, making Nataly turn around to notice my worried expression, to which I coughed out my flustered state as she responded, "Yes, I did as told. Nataly smiled: "Thank you for analyzing my health. It is very sweet of you."
My headlights heated up before I parked next to her as we began discussing what places she has traveled to and how medical treatments are becoming more advanced than my clinic. The more Nataly talked, the more I daydreamed about how her paint job and eyes matched her smile; But perhaps, Sheriff's assumptions were correct. I...I think...I think I might have fallen in love with Ms. Nataly Adler.
