Chapter 3

They arrived at the bookstore but Jin's face changed when they arrived in front of a bookshelf. Jin kept looking at the empty shelf in front of him.

"What's wrong Jin?" Jungkook said.

"Ah the book is sold out," Jin said.

"We can look for it in another bookstore, come on," Jungkook pulled his hand but Jin held him back.

"What is it?" Jungkook said.

"This is the last stock they took out and I only saw it in this bookstore, but at that time I didn't have enough money to buy it," Jin said and Jungkook saw the sadness in Jin's eyes.

"Did you like that book?" Jungkook said and Jin nodded.

"Come on we better go, it's almost night," Jin said.

"Would you like some ice cream before we go home? There's an ice cream place nearby, let's walk," Jungkook said and Jin nodded before Jungkook subconsciously took his hand, intertwined theirs, and led Jin to walk beside him.

Jin was quite surprised but didn't try to let go of the grip, he just smiled while looking at their hands.

Jungkook and Jin stood in front of the ice cream display, there were lots of flavors of ice cream there, Jin looked here and there and occasionally saw the price board displayed there.

"What do you want? Ah, what's your favorite flavor?" Jungkook said and he turned to Jin who was looking at the price board.

"What is it?" Jungkook said.

"Isn't this very expensive? I thought it wouldn't be this expensive, then you can buy it," Jin said.

"I'll treat you," Jungkook said.

"No, you just buy it," Jin said.

"Okay, then I'll buy chocolate flavor, you like it right?" Jungkook said.

"Me? That's for you so pick one you like," Jin said.

"I'll buy 1 for both of us, it's expensive right?" Jungkook said and Jin just smiled before nodding.

They returned to the bookstore to pick up the motorbike they had parked there, Jungkook held the ice cream in his hand, giving it to Jin to try it first.

"You try it first," Jin said.

"You first." Jungkook stopped and made Jin stop too.

"Here," Jungkook stuck out the ice cream to Jin and Jin came closer to the ice cream to try it at the same time Jungkook did the same thing, making their eyes locked with their hearts pounding and Jin immediately pulled himself away with the ice cream sticking to his lips.

"You're so adorable," Jungkook wiped the ice cream on Jin's lips with his finger and made Jin blush again.

"You just eat the ice cream, I...I'm full," Jin said and he immediately looked down.

"Let's go home," Jungkook said and he immediately grabbed Jin's hand to lead him away.

On their way home, it suddenly rained heavily and forced them to stop at the nearest bus stop before they got soaked.

"Ah your clothes are wet, here's my jacket," Jungkook took off his jacket and gave it to Jin.

"How about you?" Jin said.

"I'm fine, it looks like the rain won't let up, will your parents scold you for coming home late? I'll explain to them," Jungkook said.

"Oh but I don't have parents, I live with my aunt," Jin said.

"Oh I'm sorry," Jungkook said.

"It's okay," Jin said.

"Are you cold?" Jungkook said he could see Jin's lips trembling slightly.

"Yeah, but I'm okay, your jacket warms me up enough," Jin said and Jungkook suddenly took Jin in his arms and stroked his back.

"You can get sick if you like this, I'm sorry I should have brought you straight home, you can catch a cold if you like this," Jungkook said and Jin was silent with his eyes wide open he still put his hand in front of Jungkook's chest.

"J-Jungkook-"

"I'm not going to do anything to you, just until you feel warmer, when the rain stops I'll take you straight home and take a warm bath, ok?" Jungkook said, his voice sounded worried and it was the first time Jin felt someone paying attention to him, he was so touched.

Jin pulled himself away from Jungkook and stared at him without taking his hands off Jungkook's uniform.

"What is it?" Jungkook said.

"Why are you so nice to me?" Jin said.

"What do you mean?" Jungkook said.

"I'm poor, and don't have parents, I can get into that school because of a scholarship and—"

"Stop, don't say anything else, hm?" Jungkook said.

"But I'm different from you," Jin said.

"What's the difference? If it's only because of wealth, family, and education, you are wrong, nothing different Jin, I also have nothing," Jungkook said.

"But you have a family," Jin said.

"They've never been there for me Jin, I've only felt their money since I was little, so let's just pretend we're the same," Jungkook said.

"But-"

"What do you want to talk about with that shivering body of yours hm? Come here." Jungkook brought Jin's body back into his arms. Why is it so hard for Jungkook to express his feelings? He had missed so many perfect moments.
