The party started at 7pm, and it was currently 6:15. Harry was rushing around the small apartment in search of something decent to wear.
"Shirt... Shirt... Where's my shirt?" He paced up and down, trying his best to not displace too many items. He hated when things were messy.
Harry wasn't often invited to parties and when he was, he usually declined. Instead, he would rather fall asleep after reading a good novel or end up going out with his sister and her friends. He didn't have many of his own.
But today, a cute customer called Louis invited him over to his house for a party and Harry wanted to go more than ever.
"Here it is!" Harry fished out his best shirt and smiled in triumph as he slipped it on. It was a Pink Floyd shirt, he loved it. He especially loved it more now that he knew the older boy had a band tee, too.
Harry glanced at the clock and to his surprise, it was already 6:37pm. He quickly grabbed his keys and phone before darting out the door.
**********
Cups of alcoholic beverages were being passed around the house as music could be heard in every room. A flood of people all arrived at the party settings at a couple minutes passed six and Louis was prepared to have a good time.
It wasn't until ten minutes later that the doorbell rang again.
"Leeeeyum?" Louis called out from the kitchen where he was doing a couple shots with two girls who wouldn't stop giggling. "Can you get that for me, mate? I'm in the middle of something very important."
"Yeah, sure, whatever." Liam mumbled to himself. He weaved through the crowd to open the door and blinked when he saw who was there.
"Uh... Hi." Harry stared at Liam with wide eyes. "Is this um, Louis' party?"
"Yeah...?" Liam narrowed his eyes at the kid. "Don't you work at Tesco?"
"Y-yeah, that's me." He laughed nervously. "I just- well, Lou invited me over earlier and I was just-"
"HARRY YOU MADE IT!" Louis emerged from the scene out into the doorway. Harry smiled at the boy who had changed into skinny jeans and a tank top.
"Hey, Lou!" He completely forgot about Liam who was standing there, too.
"Well? Don't just stand there lookin' pretty, come inside!" insisted Louis. Harry blushed and followed Louis inside, head lowered. He grew nervous at the amount of people in the hallway and looked up at Louis.
He liked it when Louis called him pretty. Any other time he heard those words it was from his family, but he was pretty sure that they only said it to make him happy.
"I like your shirt." Harry tugged lightly on Louis' shirt and the older boy glanced at the material before offering him a smile of appreciation and mouthed a 'thank you'.
They ended up at the drinks table along with two other girls, talking the whole time. Harry thought they were lovely people, but he didn't like the way one of them was looking at Louis.
And he certainly didn't like the way Louis was looking at her.
"So Harry," a dark haired girl spoke. "You look a bit young."
"Yeah I uh, I'm 17."
"Woah, aren't you still in school?"
"No, not really..."
"What, are you a drop-out or something?"
"Jesus Stacey, what's with the third degree?" Louis raised his free hand. "What Harry does with his life is his decision, don't make him feel s.hitty about it."
Louis casually slung his arm around the younger boy's shoulder and Harry subconsciously leaned into him. Louis loosened his grip on Harry after a couple seconds, making Harry frown at the loss of contact.
"Alright, alright! Sorry..." the girl rolled her eyes, filling her cup again. Everybody seemed to be older than Harry, which made him question why Louis invited him in the first place.
Somewhere during their conversation, the flirty blonde had shuffled closer to Louis and now had her hand dangerously close to his. Harry tried to not glare at her too hard.
He decided that he didn't like her.
She whispered something in his ear before giggling and, to Harry's dismay, he laughed too. Louis slung his arm over her shoulder and whispered back in her ear.
"Oi, oi!" Stacey shook her head, amused. "No shagging tonight, alright? I don't want to be a third wheel!"
"You could join us." Louis added with a charming wink. Stacey glared at him before she was whisked off by another guy. Harry smiled to himself.
"What about you, pretty boy?" Louis turned to look at him, arm still lazily flung around the girls shoulders. "Up for a threesome?"
Harry choked on his drink and the blonde laughed. Gosh, is that the only thing she could do?
"Uh, i don't know, Lou," I'd prefer a twosome, ditch the girl.
"Oh come oooooon, man! You'd be missing out on a good time?"
"I'm... I've never..." he trailed off, scratching his arm. Louis clocked on what Harry was trying to say and nodded.
"Right, then," Louis grabbed the girl's hand. "More for me."
Harry watched in horror as he pulled the girl with him along and up the stairs to do God knows what.
