~×I've been aching, aching for you, my love.×~

"Mooooom!"

The sound of the front door bursts open as Nando pushes himself into the house. He looks around the area but doesn't see the woman.

"MooooooM!"

"I'm in the kitchen Nando, stop yelling inside!"

The young boy turns around with a smile, seeing the visitor there before grabbing their wrist and pulling them inside. He shuts the door with his shoe before dragging them along.

"I found a stray walking outside on the way home."

Allison spins around to reprimand her son until her eyes fall onto the individual he had been tugging inside.

"Y/n!" she says, a bit of shock in her tone.

"Hey Allie." you wave at her with a sheepish smile.

The woman walks around the kitchen counter before wrapping you up in a tight hug.

"Oh my sweet child. I missed you."

You chuckle, trying not to get choked up over your best friend's mother missing you. She was like a mother to you, so in a way it felt like your mom was hugging you after years of not seeing her. Which was the case here.

Allison pulled back and cupped your cheeks in her hands, to which you closed your eyes and enjoyed the motherly love she was emitting.

"I am so happy to see you."

"I am too. It's been too long."

The woman scoffs and releases your face.

"Two years too long."

You knew she didn't mean it in a mean way but you also knew she was still upset with you for hurting her daughter. She couldn't stop you from hurting her the first time, you were leaving to better yourself. But this second time, she thought her consent was enough to keep you here. Sadly, it wasn't.

"I did it to protect Katie, Allie. You know that."

"Y/n," Allison sighed before turning around to face you. The island separated you both. "I trust you with my daughter, I always have. But when you leave a week before her 18th birthday and don't say anything to us till five months later? That's not protecting her."

"I was scared, Allie." you finally confess, lowering your head so you can stare at the floor.

"Of what?"

You sigh out deeply, your brows furrowing. "Of losing her friendship. What if something happens and she doesn't want to be with me anymore? Or-or what if I hurt her?"

"Like you've already done twice now?"

You swallow back the lump that started to form in your throat. She was right. You had hurt her, more times than you would have liked.
