(7) Kind

You slowly stand up still holding on to him.

You take it further by walking a little. "I feel okay now I think."

Ethan says, "Okay, that's good."

He stops and leans against the wall surrounding the kitchen while you lean your back toward one of the walls in the walkway of the kitchen. He delicately lets your hand go as you both stand there quietly for a little while.

You see him look back at you through the corner of your eye making you give him your full attention. He smiles as he asks, "How has your time back in Massachusetts been so far?"

You're a little taken aback by his question but remember all he has done is treat you with such kindness.

With a soft smile in return, "It's good I didn't realize how much I missed it...and my family of course. Have you lived here your whole life?"

"Yep, born and raised."

You both make small talk mostly keeping smiles planted on your faces. It was nice talking to him, in that short time you feel like you guys became really close, like maybe even best friends.

You notice the time by glancing at your completely normal wristwatch on your right wrist. 

1:32 AM

He also notices you do this and asks you for the time.

"Oh gee, its 1:33."

He looks surprised as well."Wow how long have we been talking for."

"Not that long." You giggle.

Just at that time, Bodie walks in. His eyes look droopy. It hard to tell if it's from the drinking of the loss of energy of how much fun he was having.

You laugh as he walks up to you two. "Don't you look tired."

Bodie laughs a little and mumbles, "Yea, can we go home, please? I don't want my Aunt and Uncle to worry about how late it is."

You look to Ethan, "He is right, we should probably get going."

He nods in understanding.

"Thank you again for all your help and having us here it was a fun party even if it got a little... uhh bumpy." You say giving a small wink.

In response, Ethan chuckles, "Yea, no problem. Like I said before you guys are always welcome over."

You gather your little cousin under your arm as you are about to walk out, you hear Ethan pipe out to you.

"Hey, wait, I'll walk you guys back."

You stand there and shake your head, "Oh no, that's okay. Really, you have already helped enough."

He shakes his head in return, "I insist, plus we don't know for sure if you don't have a concussion."

You softly giggle, "Fair point, are you sure you're not a real doctor?"

Ethan laughs, "I just might be. " He then shoves his hands in his pocket as you all walk out onto the front lawn and forward to your house.

As you guys walk up the driveway, Bodie breaks from the group to go wait by the front door. This left Ethan and You to talk.

"Hey, thank you for walking us home and well you know how you said we were welcome over any time? I was curious, may I have your number? So like maybe we can give you guys a heads up so we don't interrupt anything like maybe your recording?..."

He hums softly understanding what you mean, "Yea that'd be a great idea, and even if we have things happening it's ok."

You give a gently smile and pull your phone out of your back pocket 

After exchanging numbers, you thank him again and make your way to where Bodie is waiting. He almost looks like he is going to fall asleep standing right there. You laugh to yourself shoving your little cousin inside the house.

As you slowly close the door as quietly as you can, you sneak one more glance and smile towards Ethan showing how much you appreciate him.

Thankfully you all three make it home safe and sound. While Ethan returns to his brother and the party is still lively going, you and Bodie make your way to your rooms crashing for the night.

You wake up to your cousin jumping on your bed and then falling beside you. 

"Heyyy your Mom sent me to wake you up." he says almost yelling it.

You mumble almost unrecognizable into your pillow, "Okay, okay can you please not yell so loudly I feel like hit my head last night."

He laughs and shakes you full awake.

"You realize you actually did hit your head right, or well the ball hit you technically." He pauses with a big smile on his face. "Howi your head by the way."

You groan, "I'm actually not sure yet."

You stumble up and out of bed going to the connected bathroom to rinse your face in cold water to help hydrate your skin and also help wake you up at least a little bit.

You make your way back to your bedroom collecting your clothes to start the day. Bodie sits on your bed playing on his phone.

 You get leggings and cropped exercise wear tank top, with a grey loose hoodie as a cover in case it's a little chilly. 

For the morning since you didn't feel completely awake, you figured you would go on a jog or even just a walk.

After changing in the restroom you come out again to see Bodie in the same position he was in.

"Hey Bodie, do you wanna go with me? I'm thinking of going on a little run."

He shakes his head, "I'm all good thanks though, I am gonna go enjoy eating breakfast while you go through that pain." 

You laugh and exit your room, shouting back, "Alright, you do that! But don't forget to save me some!"

On your way out you greet your parents with Good Mornings.

The jog starts smoothly. Your head is throbbing a little but you feel better than you did last night. 

You breathe in the Autumn air as you make your way down the street listening to a calming playlist you made.

After a few minutes pass you are near a familiar area. 

You hear faint screams almost so you release your earbuds from your ears and stop to listen. 

More yelling, you can't make out if it's out of fear or joy. Either way, you take the path to explore the crazy sounds.
