(Chapter 6)

(Ovie)

After my party was over I was cleaning up a few things while some people stayed to help

As I was cleaning the bar my mom walked over to me and I could already hear what she was gonna say

"I know momma, I'm already knowing"

"Boy you don't know a damn thing"

She said sitting down on one of the bar stools

"Come on let's talk"

She said motioning for me to sit next to her and I did

"Okay what's up than ma?"

"Listen Ovie you're my baby and you know that right?"

I nodded my head and she continued

"And you know I'll do my best to always make you feel safe and loved right?"

I nodded my head once again

"But I know right and wrong and I feel like what you and Tae are doing is wrong"

I sighed but I let her continue because I know how she is when I interrupt her while she speaking

"And don't get me wrong Tae is a nice young man BUT I don't think y'all should make such a big decision like this"

"But momm..."

"I'm not finished, like I was tryna say I just feel like y'all are rushing and are you even sure he's the one?? Because I don't know I have this gut feeling telling me that something's off with that man"

After she said that my mind drifted to Jonathan and how he made me feel when we talked but I shouldn't think of him like that

I'm with his god brother for fucks sakes

"Ma, I'm happy that you're voicing your concern but I'm grown and I'm sure I can make my own decisions for myself, but how about this if something does happen and I'm not saying that it will, just know that I'm sorry for not listening to you but I honestly don't think Tae is a bad guy"

She just hummed and nodded

"Okay baby, just be careful"

"I will"

Even though I felt some type of way about Tae and Ovie being engaged I just couldn't find myself hating either of them

Like Ovie didn't do anything wrong to me so imma stop being so hostile towards him

And as for Tae there's just no point in arguing with him anymore plus it just feel like I'm still dragging this shit and I'm done being petty

But anyways enough of that I'm at one of Ovie's game with Tae of course

But you know I had to come and support him plus I love basketball so that's another reason why my ass agreed to come

"Damn the crowd really loves Ovie"

I said to Tae as the crowd once again cheered at him for scoring for his team

"I know, it's so crazy to me"

We heard the announcers talking about how the people were happy to see Ovie when all of a sudden Ovie and another player collided together

Ovie had fell to the ground clutching his knee making me and Tae stand up to see if he was okay

The announcers were still talking but now they  were describing what happened

Ovie laid on the ground groaning in pain as he held his knee

A paramedic worker had came to his aid

"COME ON BABY"

I heard Tae yell as he made his way towards him and I followed

I looked around and I saw how everyone was worried about him and I mean I am too
