Everyone reacted all at once. Alex was up from his seat and halfway across the living room before being grabbed by Kyle, who hugged him tight in a bear hug. Kai, on the other hand, only stepped aside, letting the vampire into the house.
"Hela," Kai greeted, "I wasn't expecting you so soon."
The female vampire just nodded in response, surveying the room. Her ruby eyes went from Kai, to the commotion in the living room, to the boy that was sleeping on the couch. Her long black hair was tightly pulled into a bun at the back of her head and her skin was so white that it was almost transparent. She was wearing similar clothes to what Kai was wearing the first day that he came back to the pack.
"Kai, I see that I have come at a bad time."
"Not at all. Come in," Kai said, motioning for the vampire to come further into the house.
"Kai, what the hell is going on?" Alex said.
"Calm down Alpha, she is a Golden Arrow."
"I don't care who she is. Why the hell is she here?"
Kai just sighed before walking over to Alex and Kyle. He motioned for Kyle to let the Alpha go, which he reluctantly did.
"I'll explain, but first, Kyle, can you please take the boy back to the pack house before he wakes up. He doesn't need to be here for this."
Kyle quickly walked over to where Isaac was sleeping and gently picked him up. Luckily, the boy was still lean with youthful muscles so Kyle didn't have an issue carrying him out the door and out of sight, while Kai closed the door behind them. Turning back towards Alex, Kai let out another sigh before walking back to the island and sitting down. Once settled, he then motioned for Alex and Hela to join him. Both were reluctant to do so, but with some coaxing they eventually caved and also sat around the island across from one another.
"Alex this is Hela, she is a Golden Arrow like I am. Hela, Alex is the pack Alpha."
"Okay, but why is she here Kai and why didn't you tell me that you were in cahoots with a vampire."
"Alex, please calm down and let me explain."
The Alpha looked at the vampire suspiciously before turning back to Kai and letting out a sigh. Hela just sat there quietly, not moving as if she was a statue.
"Fine."
"Okay, so when I took this job I knew that I was going to have a hard time tracking Nikolai considering him and I have had previous... uh... relations. So I knew that I would need help tracking the horde. Hela was an obvious choice, considering that she is a vampire and well... technically a part of the horde."
"WHAT!?!" Alex screamed. Just as he was about to continue yelling at the Omega, the front door opened and Kyle stepped in. He surveyed the situation before walking over to the island.
"So what did I miss?"
"I don't know Kyle, you seem pretty chill about this situation so I am assuming that you already knew about this little arrangement?"
"What arrangement?"
"That Kai is not only working with a vampire, but also with a vampire that is in the horde of vampires trying to take over our land!"
Kyle looked shocked for a second before turning to the female vampire.
"Hela, you are still in the horde?"
At that, Alex grew even more enraged. He clenched his hands into fists, ready to fight all three of the other people in the room.
"Someone needs to tell me what the hell is going on! Right now."
