After we accepted the case, the voice of our former head kept repeating itself in my mind.

'They said that you're not worthy as a prosecutor'

Making me remember the real reason why I accepted the job here. 'Proving myself worthy of a prosecutor'.

"I won't try because I'll definitely prove myself, prove it to them", I recall speaking those words to him.

And I believe that today is the perfect opportunity to do that. Imagine taking down a significant criminal organization syndicate; this would make national headlines. If it happens, I will be given a big honor in front of everyone.

To prove myself and to disprove their assumptions about me, I'm willing to take any and all risks. However, thinking this will not gonna be easy. I sighed.
My phone started vibrating, so I had to stop reading a couple of articles. It's Seungkwan.

"Hyung, it's getting late already. Aren't you going home?"

"I do, but hyung, don't overwork yourself. Tomorrow is still ahead of you, so carry on. Go home right away; it's dangerous out this late. You work too many hours overtime."

"Yeah, I'll just organized my things and I'll go home now"

"I know how to get home, so there's no need. Just stay there."

"But at this hour, the outside is extremely dangerous."

"I'll be alright, I assure you. Kwan, I can handle it myself.  Don't worry"

"Okay, be careful on your way home"

"I will, bye"

Afterward, I hang up. I don't want to trouble them by asking them to come get me.
As soon as we agreed to that case, I wasted no time in looking over several articles and reports. Even though it is almost six in the evening, Ms. Superior and I are still in the office.

I made the decision to put in extra time to thoroughly study the recently received cases. I'm eager for finding out more about them. I need to wrap up this case as quickly as possible so I may return to Seoul. I want to prove to them that they misjudged me.
I check my watch, and it's already seven o'clock. After assembling all of my stuff, I bid goodbye to Ms. Superior. She gave me a quick glance and said, "Take care," before returning her focus to the papers in front of her.
