[On Route To The Inherited House - Usagi's Point Of View]
"My Love, please take her with you - please give her a better life than I could ever provide for her." Her voice played in my mind as she handed me the small bundle into my scarred hands - I looked into her brown eyes with my blue eyes as she stepped away from me with tears in her eyes as she looked down at the bundle in my hands before turning away from me and running away into the blizzard dead forest. I stood there with frozen tears on my face as I looked down at the bundle with a smile, I hugged it to my chest and ran back to my base tent.
"Daddy?" A voice echoed in my mind, causing the memory to dissolve from my eyes to return me back to where I was - in the back of a cab driving on the road - I looked beside me and smiled at my passenger. The light of my life.
My Five-Year-Old Daughter, Eira Snow.
She looked at me with her mother's eyes - eyes as brown as the smoothest chocolate and radiating the loyalty of a soldier - her pale skin matched mine as did her long snow-white hair; she was dressed in a white t-shirt and blue jean shorts with her dirty white tennis shoes - while she looked like a girly girl, she was more of a tomboy, she loved running outside, climbing trees, and playing soldier, saying that she wanted to be a soldier like me and serve our country.
"Yes, sweetie?" I asked her as she looked at me before looking out the window at the passing world going by.
"When are we going to get there? We've been driving for hours." Eira said as she looked at her 'Frozen' Watch - it was the shape of a snowflake with Elsa on the face of the watch with her hands up and snow dancing on her palms.
"Well, your grandfather wasn't really a people person and he loved his privacy but he was a rather wealthy man who wanted to leave all his money for his grandchildren - I don't have any siblings - well, I did but that's a story for another day." I explained as I placed a hand on Eira's head and ruffled her hair, causing her to groan and lift her hands above her head to swat my hand away, making me chuckle. We sat in silence until the driver pulled up to a large house at the end of the forest path. My Grandfather retired to the forest a few miles away from town and only went to town to get some groceries, and clothes, and to get his mail from the post office. The house was large and two stories with an attic and a basement, a total of 5 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms with a built-in gym; he was always moving and training in case someone tried to break into his house, I guess that's how he was able to live to be 105 years old and passed away in his slumber. My Grandfather didn't like my parents - who abandoned me with him the moment I was born - my grandfather raised me and I consider him to be my one true parent.
"We have reached your destination, sir. You've overpaid in advance and I would like to know if you would like the remaining balance of $136.24?" The Driver asked as he looked to face me and Eira.
"You can keep it, you were rather kind to us and you deserve more than you get paid." I said as she gave him another $20 before getting out of the car, walking behind it, and getting my luggage with Eira's out of the trunk before the driver pulled into the driveway, turned around, and drove away back down the forest path. I watched as my daughter ran down the pier to look at her reflection on the surface of our lake with a wide smile.
"This house is so big, Daddy! Do you really think we can stay here?" Eira asked as she walked back over to me and took her luggage from my hand as we walked to the front door.
"Yes. Your Grandfather paid to have this house built and the land has been owned by his family for a few generations but no one was able to decide what to do with it for years so he decided to buy the land from his father and build this house on it. We don't have to pay rent or the mortgage, his lawyer will be here tomorrow to give us the deed to the house but I have the key." I said as I pulled the house key from my pocket and unlocked the door before pushing it open with a creak.
The living room was fully furnished with a couch, coffee table, and flatscreen TV attached to the wall above the fireplace. All the furniture was in great condition, so I didn't need to purchase anything new for the house. Eira ran up the stairs and looked through each room until she yelled out which one she wanted. The room had a bed, comforter, dresser, and wardrobe, but needed some decoration. We searched for any damaged or missing items, but everything seemed to be in its proper place. I'll need to call the electric company & internet company to get power and internet to this place.

Amaterasu: I know you guys wanted a new chapter for either The Fox's Obsession or Cat & Canary but this idea has been punching my brain for the past few weeks and now I have 3 stories I can work on, I'll make some kind of schedule so I can make alterations for the 3 stories and finish Cat & Canary. Sorry for being gone for so long but I've been on another platform making stories. I got distracted and completely forgot I made this account. I'm back on Wattpad and I'll be making more content.
