CHAPTER THREE: THOSE GREEN EYES

[The Mega Pizzaplex - Manager's Office - Usagi's Point Of View]

"Okay, here is your Custom Roxanne Wolf Debit Card - your paycheck will be deposited every Friday." The manager said as he slid the debit card towards me - it had the Keytarist of the Glamrock Band with a black background; if there is anything I can say about the design of this card, they know how to draw and make a card look badass. I picked up the card and smiled - Eira was going to be interested in this card, she was going to want something like this in the future when she was old enough for a debit card. "Okay, I'll be right back; I need to make sure that you have a security guard uniform and start working tomorrow. I'll make sure your daughter has a profile as an Employee's Child in the Daycare Server so that Sun and Moon know that she is going to stay longer in the daycare." 

I nodded as the Manager rose from his seat and walked out of the room through a door on the right side of the room. I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone - Eira was my screensaver - and unlocked my phone with my fingerprint before opening my messages; it was something from my lawyer stating that the official paperwork was sent to the house in the forest. I smiled when I heard the door open again but when I looked up - the Manager wasn't there - and the sound came from behind me, someone came into the office from the main door.

"Manager, I wanted to talk to you about-" A voice.

A Female's Voice.

And for some reason, that voice sounded eerily familiar. I rose from my seat and turned around to lock eyes with the new person who entered the office when my eyes widened at the sight of the person before me. She was a head shorter than me, with lightly tanned skin with freckles across the bridge of her nose and on her cheeks as well as on the sides of her neck with long blonde hair under her hair that was placed in a ponytail, she was dressed in a Night Guard Uniform but it was her eyes that made my heart freeze and my blood stand still in my veins; it was her and the nametag on her shirt confirmed it my fears.

"Usagi?" The woman said as she placed her hand over her mouth as if she had seen a ghost before she lowered her hand and smiled at me with wide eyes as she started walking towards me - oh no. "It's you. It's really you. You've returned home." 

"Don't come too close to me, Vanessa." I said as I lifted my hand in a stop gesture and she did stop when she was in my personal space.

This girl was Vanessa - I didn't remember her last name - I knew her from my childhood, she was my neighbor with her mother and father but she was a rather weird kid - she spent most of her time alone and only had a single toy, a golden bunny plushie with purple eyes. I met her when I was walking home from school and saw her getting picked on by some known bullies in the neighborhood, one of them had her bunny and was holding it out of reach by its' ears. Vanessa was crying and reaching for the bunny and I couldn't stand bullies so I intervened. I was trained in street boxing and beat the bullies' leader up until he fell on the ground, causing his friend to help him up and ran away. Vanessa took her bunny and ran home - she didn't thank me but I understood, she was a rather shy child and I just wanted to help her.

The next morning, I found Vanessa waiting for me by her house - I needed to pass it every day on the way to school. She thanked me for saving her bunny from the bullies and asked me if I would walk with her to school - this was my chance to have a friend and I agreed to do so. As time went on, Vanessa was attached to me like a glue sheet of paper to a clipboard; she stayed with me at all times when we didn't have classes and didn't want me to have any other friends. This attitude stayed until we went to high school - she remained by my side and she harassed any kind of girls who showed interest in me, scaring them away; I was really annoyed with her. One day, before I went to the Military, she begged me to stay and come work at her father's company but I refused; that's when she said something that I would never forget.

"When you come back, we're going to get married and I'm going to be the mother of your children." That was the last thing I heard from her before I went to camp. I thought I was free from her and now she was here, before me.

"Usagi, it's been so long since I have last seen you - it's been 7 years since I saw you and now you are here again. You've returned to me." Vanessa said as placed her hand on my right cheek but I pushed her hand away, "What's wrong? You never rejected my touch before."

"I don't want you touching me, Vanessa, I don't feel that way about you." I said but Vanessa looked at me like I slapped her across the face before she burst out into laughter and placed her hands on my chest.

"Come on, Snow Bunny, everything is going to be alright now that you are back. When we get married, you can take over my father's company and I'll stand by your side as your wife and mother of your children, just as we planned." Vanessa whisper as she leaned in to kiss me but I pushed her away, making her gasp in shock, "Snow Bunny, what was that for? You shouldn't push your future wife." 

"You're not my future wife, you're not even my girlfriend. I don't like you, Vanessa, not even as a friend; you were clingy and controlling in the past and I was so happy to be away from you when I went to the military; I only came here to give my daughter a stable life and a stable life for myself." I said with narrowed blue eyes but Vanessa's face took that of rage when I told her I had a daughter.

"You're telling me that brat you came in with was your daughter?! Have you forgotten what I told you - I'm your future wife and mother to your future children but you went and impregnated another woman and brought your bastard with you?! Have you forgotten everything we planned?!" Vanessa yelled at me but I refused to back down.

"I didn't plan anything with you - I don't like you and I never shall and don't call my daughter a brat." Vanessa opened her mouth to retort when the door opened again and the manager come out with a Security Guard outfit in his grasp.

"Here is your outfit, my boy." He looked up and saw Vanessa glaring at me while I was looking at him, "Is everything alright here?" 

"Yes sir. I'll see you tomorrow." I said as I took my outfit out of his hands and walked past Vanessa, out the door, and went to collect my daughter - this was going to be a difficult job but I was a day guard and Vanessa was a night guard, maybe we won't be seeing each other. Right?
