Marlon looked at me with confusion. "What?"

"You would never lie to me, would you?" I repeated myself.

Marlon stared at me for a moment, not knowing what to say. He was speechless.

"No. Why would you even ask me that?" He scoffed, looking at me before he turned and closed the door. He crossed his arms as he looked back at me, waiting for an answer.

I'll admit, I was scared to ask what I wanted to ask, but after what happened with Brodie, and then the conversation with Mitch after, it just had my stomach in knots, and I needed to know the truth about who Marlon really was before we got too deep into anything, if we were ever gonna become anything. Especially after what happened with Henry and I.

"Is Brodie the only person you've killed?" I asked bravely, looking into Marlon's eyes as pure betrayal swept across his face.

"Are you fucking for real? What kind of fucking question is that?" He yelled, taking a step towards me.

"If the raiders come back, are you still planning on trading me in to them?" I asked him, remaining calm as he was visibly getting very upset by these questions, but they were ones that have been bothering me ever since Clem and Brodie.

Marlon looked at me with disbelief and betrayal in his eyes, stepping back away from me as he did.

"The fact that you're even asking me that right now just goes to show that you clearly don't love or trust me at all." He said, shaking his head as he backed away from me even more and stomped towards the door, opening it as he stormed out, slamming the door behind him and leaving me to sulk in my thoughts and feelings.

I had been sitting on my bed, knees to my chest for about an hour now, just thinking back on everything that has happened here so far, and now here I am, ruining my relationship with the guy I love. It wasn't on purpose, though. I just needed to know.

I finally decided to get up and go out to the campus to see what everyone was doing, also wanting to check on A.J. since it had been a little while since I last saw him.

I stood up from my bed and walking over to the door, opening it up as I exited the room, making my way to where the medical area was set up on the second floor.

Once I got there, I noticed that Ruby, Willy, and Mitch were all sitting outside of the med area, talking in the hallway. My heart dropped to my stomach.

Mitch wouldn't tell Willy about something like that, right?

I took a deep breath before walking up to the group of teenagers.

"Hey, how is he?" I asked Ruby, referring to A.J. as I could feel Mitch's gaze locked on me, Willy's as well.

"His fever seems to have calmed down, he should be awake now." Ruby responded as I gave her a nod, glancing up at Mitch who had a disgusted look on his face, and as soon as I made eye contact with him, he rolled his eyes and looked away.

I looked away as well, walking away from the group as I walked to where A.J. was on the couch, and his eyes fluttered open as he looked at me.

"Hey buddy, it's me." I said to him softly with a smile as I sat beside him.

"Aubrey?" He asked, and I gave a simple "mhm" back to him as I then watched him slowly sit up and stretch.

"I feel so much better now." He said to me with a smile, which caused me to giggle a bit.
