A.J. and I were up at the crack of dawn due to the pain A.J. was having from the wounds he had gotten the night before. I didn't mind it though, I didn't know where we were exactly, so it'd probably take us awhile to get to the school. I didn't want to be walking around at night in these woods anyway.
"You doing okay, bud?" I asked him as we were already starting our journey back to the school so that A.J. could get the help he needed.
A.J. kept his eyes on the ground as traveled through the woods, hoping for a sighting of the school soon.
"Yeah, I'm okay." He responded in a bummed out tone.
"Just tired and in pain."
I looked over at him as we continued walking, my heart dropping for the little guy. First, he lost Clementine, which I felt was one hundred percent my fault. Second, he was shot, and he was only a kid. I also felt responsible for that. No kid should have to go through this, though.
"We're almost there, A.J. Just try to hang in there a little bit longer, alright?" I said to him in a calm and reassuring tone of voice.
I grabbed his hand lightly and continued moving through miles of woods, keeping an eye for any walker or scavengers on the loose.

It had to have been at least an hour and a half before we caught sight of the school. It took us a little bit longer to get there since I had to carry A.J. the whole time.
By the time we caught sight of the school, my body was completely drained, worn out, tired.
Approaching the gate, I collapsed to my knees, my vision getting blurry as I had the gate open, and what sounded like two pairs of footsteps rushed towards us. One caught A.J., and the other caught me.
"Aubrey? Are you okay?" A familiar voice asked me as I felt my body being lifted up off of the ground. I was too out of it to respond, and a few seconds later I was knocked out.

I opened my eyes, putting my hands in front of my face to shield the brightness from the sun from my eyes.
It took me a few moments to gain consciousness, but once I did the first thing that came to my mind was A.J. My body immediately shot up.
"A.J.?" I yelled looking around the room as I took in my surroundings. I was in my old room.
A few seconds later my door swung open, and in walked Marlon, his eyes almost sparkling when they met mine. I was so happy I got to see him, but I didn't even know what to say.
Marlon knew what was going through my mind as he walked up to me, pulling me up from the bed and gently pulling my body into his, embracing me in a warm hug.
"I missed you." I said into his chest as he held my body tightly.
"I missed you too. I'm so glad you're back." He said to me as he kissed my forehead lightly before pulling away a bit, looking down into my eyes before kissing me roughly but passionately on the lips, his fingers getting tangled in my hair.
