"I don't know why the spare keys were in those places," I said, recalling where we had found the spare keys, "but it fells very nice to more armed."
"Yeah, couldn't agree with you more on that point." Leon agreed. We were in the safety deposit room again and all the lockers were now open. Leon stood there examining the shotgun in his hands. "Oh, I like this one. Feels very steady."
Other than the keys, we had also found a key card to the weapons locker that held the shotgun.
I had insisted that he took it instead of me when he offered the shotgun to me, I like guns better. "Honestly, Kennedy, you sound like a child who just got a new toy" I chuckled, "And it's a little disturbing seeing as it's a gun."
He chuckled too when he heard my statement, "Honestly, Cate," He mocked me, "as if you were any different when you saw that hip pouch."
I rolled my eyes, "Oh shut up-"
I was cut off by our comms going off, "Cate, Leon, it's Marvin." The humorous atmosphere quickly went away when we heard Marvins voice, "I need you back here ASAP."
"Are you okay, Marvin?" Leon asked the man over the radio.
"I've got something to show you. It's important"
I could hear the urgency in his voice and responded, "Copy that, we'll be right there." I turned to Leon, "We can go through the west office. It'll lead right to the main hall."
"Okay." Leon said and gave me a nod, signalling me to lead the way.
We walked out the door and continued to the door on the opposite wall. Carefully, I opened the door and peered in with my flashlight. It was quiet, so I pushed the door so that both of us could walk in. As the door shut, a zombie, who I thought were dead, got up from a chair. I shot it square in the head and it dropped to the ground. I put my gun back in it's holster. In the corner of my eye, I saw Leon looking up at something. When I looked up too, the words 'Welcome Leon' looking back at me.
"It was Marvin's idea." Leon whisked his head over to me. "He even did a little puzzel for you. To help you with learning the names of everyone."
"Guess I won't need that now." Leon looked somber as he spoke.
I can't really blame him though, can I? If this was how I had started off, I don't know how I would've reacted.
I reached forward and took his hand in mine and gave it a light squeeze as if to say that it was okay. "Come on, Marvin is waiting."
I gave him a smile and we walked to the door. Our hands were still holding each other and neither one of us separated them. I took out the key from my pocket and unlocked the door leading to the main hall.
Marvin was sitting on the couch as he was overlooking the security cameras. He looked a lot worse than last time we saw him and he was clearly in pain from the way he was grunting as he moved.
Leon and I approached him and as he saw us, he began talking, "There you are..." He was panting while he was talking, "Come here, take a look."
He showed us one of the cameras that overlooked the entrance at the fire escape. There was a person standing there and it only took a second before I recognized them.
I gasped, "Claire!" My hand slipped out of Leon's and flew up to my mouth.
"Yes!" Leon beamed from next to me, "I knew she'd make it."
"You two know her?" Marvin asked and looked at us.
"Yes, she's my sister." I breathed out, not being able to take my eyes of the moving person an the camera.
