Raven stepped out of her potion-making class, accompanied by her dedicated tutor. Despite her mother's imprisonment, Vivica was determined to ensure that Raven continued her education. With the guidance of her tutor, Raven delved into the world of potions, eager to learn and expand her magical abilities. Though it wasn't as fun as when her mother taught her. Her mother always made potion making exciting, this tutor was dull and strict.
As she stepped out, she went straight to her father, to continue their fascinating story. She knocked on the door to his study, and was told by the castle guards that he was in a meeting. Usually, she her father was on meetings that would mean that he would take up to three hours to finish.
She sighed, she was clearly bored, she then had an idea. An idea that had been on her head for a couple days now. She looked at the hallways, to see if the coast was clear, and made her way towards her mother's bedroom.
She ran, and never looked back.
Raven ran through the corridors of Queen Castle, her heart filled with anticipation and longing, eager to hear her imprisoned mother's voice once more, as she yearned for the solace and connection that only her mother's words could bring. Raven's heart ached with longing and sorrow as she deeply missed her mother's presence in her life, yearning for the warmth of her embrace and the soothing sound of her voice.
She opened the big oak doors of her mother's bedroom, and locked it shut. Tears fell from her eyes, her voice choking with tears. "M-mommy?!" She said as she got close to the mirror, suddenly, a swirl of purple smoke danced in the mirror, and her mother came into the reflection. She gasped, "my darling!" She smiled, "Mommy.. mommy I miss you!" She said, now sobbing. "Birdie I miss you more! Get me out so I can hug you!" Raven sat on her knees and hid her head in between her knees. "I can't, the man with the bad haircut said that if me or daddy get you out, we will be banished!" Her mother looked at her, and teared up a bit. "Raven.. if you get me out, I will protect you from the-" she stopped and laughed, "the.. the man with the bad haircut." Raven laughed, "What's his name anyways?" Raven asked, wiping her tears. "His name is Milton Grimm." Her mother said disgustedly. "Get me out Raven, come on!" She asked desperately. Raven just looked at her, with her big doe eyes, and tears forming again. Her mother sighed, "So, why did you come here to see me birdie?" Raven's eyes glistened as she replied, "Because Daddy is busy... and I missed you." Her mother sighed, her heart aching with longing, "And how is your father, my love?" Raven smiled shyly, "He's good. We went to the bookstore, and... Oh! I asked Daddy to tell me how you two met!" Her excitement shone through her tears. Her mother's eyes widened in amusement, "Oh, did he now? Now tell me, what did he say?" she inquired with a trace of mischief. Raven's smile grew wider as she recounted, "He said how you hated him, how you conquered Wonderland, and even some stories from your high school days!" Her mother bit her lip, suppressing a mischievous grin, knowing well the naughty tales she shared with her husband but wanting to shield her daughter from them.
Her mother listened attentively, a mixture of nostalgia and amusement in her eyes. "Ah, those were certainly eventful times," she mused, a hint of mischief playing on her lips. "Did he tell you about how he bought me a horse for my birthday?" She asked with curiosity. Raven shook her head, a playful smile on her face. "Umm, no, but you can!" Raven replied. Her mother laughed, "He bought me a beautiful black horse, I named her Midnight!" Raven's eyes widened, "Daddy bought you Midnight?" She asked, shocked. Her mother nodded proudly. "Yes, my dear. Your father knew how much I loved horses, so for my birthday, he surprised me with a majestic black horse named Midnight," her mother recounted with a gleam of nostalgia in her eyes. "Midnight was strong and elegant, just like your father's love for me." Raven's excitement was palpable as she listened to the story.
They immersed themselves in conversations, relishing each other's presence and sharing stories of their lives apart. Raven's heart ached as she recalled the day her mother was imprisoned, the memories of that dreadful event resurfacing with a mix of fear and sadness. She had tried to bury those memories deep within, to forget the pain they brought, but they lingered, haunting her thoughts and dreams.
