There are more villages located in the countries of course, but I was too lazy to add them________________________________
Prologue
"Every man with a glint of knowledge about this castle should gather inside my tent immediately.", Minho commanded with stern eyes, his ambassador nodding and hurrying to spread the news inside their camp.
The brunette was currently camping not far from the castle's walls, near the village. Together with many other rebels, waiting for their time to come. His own horse stood next to him, gently bumping his nose into his side, asking for attention and bringing a small smile onto the elders lips.
It was a rare sight to see as the brunette usually didn't see many reasons to smile. Seeing him with a cold and calculating expression was more common than seeing the sun rising every morning, which made him appear kinda mysterious and intimidating.
But a small glint of a smile curled his pretty lips as he turned around to caress his horse's black head, carefully combing his forelock. "Hey Sam, everything's fine?", he asked his lovable and trustworthy horse. Together they've went through thick and thin, inseparable.
Sam bumped his nose into Minho's side again, his big eyes expressing calmness and nearly joy as if he knew what would happen soon. "Soon.", Minho thought, his smile fading slowly.
"Sir? Everyone gathered inside your tent.", the ambassador approached the taller, looking at him with shy eyes, not wanting to scare or upset his superior. "Go ahead, I'll be there in a few.", Minho sighed, never letting go of Sam's soft fur.
"Of course sir." And with that the man hurried away, entering the tent where everyone was already waiting. But Minho needed a few more minutes, he couldn't bare facing the others just yet. Instead he needed the comfort of Sam's warm fur and his understanding eyes.
Maybe you'd call Minho weird or psychotic but he found more comfort in animals than people. They just seemed to understand him better and wouldn't ask stupid questions.
But eventually he had to face his men and with one last sigh he said goodbye to Sam and entered his tent. Inside stood nine men and his ambassador. Minho's face remained cold and calm, strategic. They had a plan to fulfil after all.
"Sir, what's the plan?", one of the men, a red haired, a bit younger one asked. He wasn't from here, he had a thick accent but Minho was able to understand him, and besides that, only his talent mattered. Which he definitely had, he was one of their best fighters.
"That's the thing.", Minho started, placing himself in the middle of that small group in front of their map table, "I don't have one yet, as I don't know the castle and its small city in front of it personally.", he let his gaze flow over their detailed map, "Has any of you ever been in that city before?"
"I've been there, my mother used to live in that village before she left with my new father.", a tall, black haired guy exclaimed, stepping forward and pointing at something on the map, "We lived here, right next to the thick walls and the river. I used to play there as a kid with my best friend." The male's eyes shined warmly, remembering his childhood, where he had been free from worry and stress.
"His name was Yunho.", he admitted, his smile fading more and more, "But the king took him away. Anyway, we often played in the river, going swimming and eventually found a way out of the city and near the castle. You just have to follow the river and it'll end in a mini pond where a door stands."
"Would you find that door after all those years?", Minho questioned, being hopeful. "I would find it with a blindfold on, it was Yunho's favourite hide whenever we played hide and seek."
"I have an idea!", another guy exclaimed, smiling victoriously, stepping closer to the map as well and explaining his plan. Minho listened carefully, his eyes brightening at the idea and nodding.
"You're smart.", he eventually admitted, looking right at the other, "How come that I don't know your name? Where are you from?", he asked, his curious eyes lingering on the slightly smaller, who's gaze interlocked with Minho's, a smile around his lips.
"Felix. I used to live in that city too, working as a baker. But I always hated how our king ruled and eventually joined you guys.", the younger exclaimed, without any fear in his voice. Usually others would be careful about what to say in Minho's presence.
"Well, welcome Felix. And your idea is exactly how we're doing it.", Minho nodded in satisfaction, "And now leave, get a good rest. We'll be on our way at tomorrow dawn."
