Chapter 3

After having snacks at the convenience store that was still open, the two head back to the hospital. "Jinu~ how long are you going to stay at the hospital?", she whined before checking her phone. "I can leave tomorrow if you want", he peered to look at what was bothering her in her phone.

"What's wrong?", he asked. "My assistants are nagging me to go back home, stepmom wants to talk to me", she rolled her eyes. He studied her behavior and sighed, "You should talk it out with your stepmother, and clear things out", he ran his fingers through her soft locks, "You can meet me up tomorrow in the morning at the hospital before I leave", he tried to encourage her to go home.

He was noticeably a tad taller than her before, she wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned closer to him, "Then... Promise me we leave the hospital together". The distance between them were so close which made his face red. "Y-yea of course, I'll wait for you". She smiled brightly, "then can we have our date tomorrow?".

He thought about it and shrugged his shoulder, "If I don't get called by the guild, then maybe we can". She giggled, "even if you do, I'll wait for you", she smiled up at him and planted a sweet kiss on his right cheek before pulling away, "alright then, see you tomorrow ♡︎ my ride is here already", she pulled away from the warmth since he wrapped his arms around her waist.

His face was redder than before as he tried to recollect the events that just happened while watching the girl skipping over to the black Nissan car.

As soon as she entered the car, her face turned immediately into a frown, she heaved out a sigh, "What does she want now? After stealing all dad's money, does she want mine now?", she asked without looking at the driver nor the assistant that was sitting on the passenger seat. Her assistant replied, "the madam only wanted to see how you're doing".

"Or see how much money I've received from the international raid", she scoffed and crossed her arms and legs while looking at her assistant, who didn't reply at her remark. "Then wanna bet, Cory?", the end of her lips quirked upwards with the thought of winning a bet. "No thanks, Ms. (Y/n), I know for sure, you will win your bet", he sighed in the end.

She laughed, "see? You agreed~ anyway, Cory show me lists of guilds and the hunters that will be joining those guilds for tomorrow, from C to E-rank dungeon and get it done before midnight tonight". Her assistant's sweat dropped but nodded his head in the end as he began researching and asking the association for any reservation, "Miss, is there anyone you're looking for in particular?". "Either find empty spots that needs 2 people to be filled or more or find any guild that my Jin Woo joined", she said in a straight tone while scrolling through the news with an empty façade.

A few minutes later, she arrived at her original apartment where her stepmother stays currently, she got out of the car and said, "stay here and I'll come back soon", she told the driver. Her assistant got out together and followed her silently from behind. She strode to the apartment while being greeted by the owner of the apartment including the workers who was bowing 90 degrees. She just went straight to the elevator and head to the penthouse.

With a single sound of the bell, they arrived at the top of the apartment, she was greeted by maids and butlers and finally her stepmother who came from the living room to come and hug her.

"ahhh my beautiful daughter! Why didn't you come and meet me when you arrived?", she pulled away and patted her back in a friendly manner. (Y/n) smiled in return, "I have other important business to attend to". "Come in come in! since you've been abroad for a year, I'm sure you've dreading for home cook meals, right? I've made pajeon as well", she lightly pushed her to the dining table, "come seat", the older woman ushered her.

Once they had a seat and both started eating. It started.

"How was your raid abroad?".

"It's fine"

"Was it difficult?".

"Not really".

There was a long pause before her stepmother continued her words.

"Then since you raid outside of Korea, you must be rich by now huh, dear?".

No response as (y/n) silently consumed her food with little to no sound.

"Hey sweetie, a few weeks ago, I went to a villa in Busan... and I really like that place, even the workers there are very good looking! You should come with me next time, maybe that way you'll find a better man, so anyway..... Due to the fact that I visited the villa.... I used up a lot of my savings... So umm... Sweetheart, can you lend me 1 billion won?".

(Y/n) stood up from her seat, "thanks for the food and I'm sorry Auntie, but I used it all up when I was abroad", she smiled and picked up her phone and quickly left the penthouse, not even giving a second glance at her yelling stepmother for not listening to her. To her dismay, her stepmother followed her with another elevator so she could catch up to her.

"Then! How about just 1 million won??", she pleads. (Y/n) turned around and smiled again, "I'm sorry auntie, I already used up all of it and..... I already have a man I like and he's better than anyone in this world", she deadpanned with a sweet smile on her face before striding away from her, her assistant followed her in suit.

Her stepmother was clearly frowning after she left the lobby. "That ungrateful wench, just because she became a hunter and her dad became bedridden, she thinks she can ignore me? Hey, find out what she's been up to", ordered before she returned back to the penthouse.

While with (y/n) who was sitting at the back of the car seat, "what's with that look, Cory?", she asked as she noticed a frown on her assistant's face. He cleared his throat, "it seemed that Madam wants to find out what Ms. (Y/n) had been doing".

Hearing his words made her erupted into a fit of laughter, "really now? Let her then, I'll see myself what power she holds", she snickered, "bold of her to assume that her assistants are hers to begin with", she checked her phone and her face lit up. She received a text from Jin Woo.

She started squealing at the back seat and smiling to herself. She continued to stare at the screen for 15 minutes before replying back to him. That's when she finally arrived at her own apartment.

"Here you go, Ms (Y/n)", Cory gave her the tablet with a list of dungeons that has slots. She checked it while heading on the way to her room, "wait, why does this insignificant being look so familiar?". "Are you perhaps talking about Hwang Dongsuk? He is the older brother of Hwang Dongsoo a Korean-American S-rank, he once wanted to have a duel with you and he ended up being hospitalized for months", her assistant replied.

"Ahhh~ that weakling had a brother? What's his brother been up to here?", she smirked while reading the lists. "Unfortunately, he seemed to be one of the 'lizard' that abused their powers to commit crimes in dungeons", her assistant continued to frown. "What are the chances that my Jin Woo would join this raid tomorrow?", she placed the tablet on the table before checking her inventory where her weapons were.

Cory pauses for a moment before curtly replying, "99%".

"Oh my~ isn't that too high~?", she giggled at the end of her word as she spun her dagger in her hand, "should I go mess them up or should I just watch on the sideline...?", there was a glint in her eyes, very dark to the point that people who stared would lose their mind.

"I would recommend that you just wait until things go south by entering the dungeon with them, without them knowing... That way, they won't know that an SSS -rank hunter entered the dungeon", her assistant answered after calming himself when he saw the glint in her eyes, "which weapon would you like to use for tomorrow?". Her eyes ran through her weapon and grinned, "uzi and stinger knives, make sure the bullets both penetrate monsters and human".

Cory frowned before heaving out a sigh, "very well then, Ms. (Y/n)", he started preparing while she went to her own bedroom and slept peacefully.
