"Yeah sure, lover boy."
Your roommate continued taunting you on your way out the door.
"Should I take the bus or just walk?"
You worked at the local cafe. It was within walking distance so it really would be a waste to take the bus. But, you were still sore from the night prior. By the time you get to the cafe, you wouldn't be able to walk anymore. Bus it is then. The bus stop was only around the corner from the front entrance. Even from the bus stop, the smell of the cafe's savory coffee, tea, and dessert lingered in the air. You were one of the people on opening shift. Todays opening task was for you to clean off the counters and barstools.
"Hey, Y/n!"
An insufferable voice screeched your name as its owner walked in. There stood your coworker, Chloe. She wasn't a very enjoyable person to be around. You could describe her as your classics pick-me girl. Along with that, she liked to grab your arm while complimenting your muscles. Despite your requests for her to stop, she never did.You tried your best to ignore her. Most people leave you alone when they see you with headphones on, but not Chloe. She snatched the headphones off and waved them in your face.
"I said, helloooooo."
"Hey. Can I have my headphones back?"
"Finnneee."
She rolls her eyes and places them back on your head.
"I'll go start on food prep. You know where to find me if you need anything."
She pats your cheek and skips away."Dude, just reject her already."
It was Rachel, your long time friend. You've known each other since middle school and applied for this job hoping you'd both get in. Rachel likes to come in through the back so you had no clue she was already inside doing her routine.
"What do you mean? You think she's flirting?"
"Damn, Y/n. No wonder you're still single, you have no idea what flirting looks like."
"It's not my fault that being annoying is her only way of flirting. Oh, and about being single..."You pulled your shirt to the side, exposing the bite mark on your neck. Rachel's face took on an expression of excitement and intrigue. However, it didn't take long for her grin to shift into a smirk.
"My, I never thought that you'd be with a biter, Y/n. So, what's his name?"
"Miguel. Another Spider."You see, Rachel was one of the people who knew about your other identity but, it was never her intention to tell her. She snuck into your room one night to scare you only to find Spider-Man climbing in through the window without his mask.
"Ah, another Spider-Man? Well, I'm glad you found someone. I honestly thought you'd just end up one of those weird cat people."
"Wow, so funny, but thanks. We're opening in a second so later I guess."
"Later!"During your break, you got a message from Miguel. Today had been so busy that you didn't think about anything other than work. But once you saw his name, you got instant butterflies.
"Hey, Y/n. I'll be in your universe for a little while for some data collection. How about I pick you up from work?"
"Sure, I'll be done soon. See you then."It was finally the end of your shift. Ever since messaging him, Miguel had become the new top priority in your head. Outside across the street, you could see Miguel's car. Since he spent so much time in the universes of you, Peter B, and Jess, he had cars in each of them for easy travel. Your heart raced with excitement as you neared the door, eager to see Miguel again.
"Y/n, wait up!"
