Your excitement quickly turned into annoyance as Chloe ran out of the kitchen door, hauling her bag over her shoulder. She stayed away from you all day. Why does she have to bother you now?
"Y/n, you walk to work, right?"
"Yes, I usually do but I took the bus today."
"Cool then! How about I walk you home then? You know we live only a block away from each other."
Chloe's asked to go walking with you several times in the past. Just to be nice, you've accepted her offers but today won't be one of those days.
"Sorry, can't. I've got plans."
"What kind of plans."You were about to tell her about Miguel, but then you remembered that she had a crush on you. Although you didn't have feelings for her, you didn't want to hurt her, so you decided to keep it to yourself. Instead, you pretended that you didn't hear her. She not the type to ask the same question twice.
"Well, later, Chloe. See you tomorrow."
"Oh. Alright bye, Y/n."At this point, Miguel was back at his car. He leaned against the passenger door with his arms crossed. His face lit up once he saw you. As you neared, he opened his arms. The embrace felt as though it lasted forever.
"How was work?"
"It was good. Did you find what you were looking for?"
"Yep. Just updating information on your universe's villains. I actually wanted to take you back to HQ to look at it."
"Sure, but there's one problem, my suit."Going straight to bed yesterday didn't give you any time to fix up your suit. There were still tears and blood stains from when you played punching bag with Miguel. It's not like it's a necessity or requirement, but it felt weird walking around the Spider Society without one.
"What's wrong with your suit?"
"It's still a mess from yesterday. I never got a chance to clean it."
"Don't worry about it, Y/n."
Miguel opens the door and leans in. You can hear him shuffling around before he pulls out a bag. He unzips the bag ever so slightly, revealing your suit.
"I stopped by your place this morning and got it fixed while I was uploading my findings to the database."
"I don't know what to say. Thank you"
"You're welcome, dear. Now, let's get going."Miguel opened the passenger door and stepped aside. His words echoed through out your head. He called you dear. He said it so casually that you barely even noticed. Butterflies fluttered around in your stomach, your face burning.
All though you could just drive the car threw a portal and park at the HQ, it was a lot stealthier to park it in the universe it's from. Miguel was able to find a place to hide his car. It was a 45 minute drive away from the city so you had a lot of time with each other.
While waiting for a traffic light to turn, Miguel placed his right hand on your thigh, just like yesterday on the couch. You glanced up at his face, he seemed unfazed, as if he wasn't doing anything. Every time the car came to a stop, he would tighten his grip, only loosen it as he began driving again.
His hand had you on cloud nine, even if it was just a thigh grab. It had you so distracted that you didn't bother to pay attention to anything else. His hand let up for a final time. You sat with your eyes closed, waiting for his grip to tighten up.
"Aww, looks like you were enjoying that. I'm afraid it has to come to an end, at least for now."
