Oscar Piastri has always loved too deeply.

He pours his entire heart and soul into his relationships, because that is what any good person would do, isn't it? You give everything to this one person, and in return, that person will give everything back.

Now, Oscar realises that this was a naive thing to believe.

First loves always end in heartbreak, he was told - now Oscar, ever so determined, was willing to try and prove that phrase wrong. It was stupid of him to believe that things could work out, it was stupid of him to love so deeply, and it is so stupid of him to lie on his bed, staring at the ceiling as he wishes for her to come back.

She is the only person that he's ever loved, and how could you ever fathom loving someone else when you have spent the better part of your teenage years enamoured with this one person? Oscar doesn't know how he'll possibly be able to get over her.

People have noticed the change in his demeanour, the way his eyes no longer to have that familiar spark in them - he knew that a breakup would hurt. But Oscar had never imagined his life without her in it - so letting this relationship slip through his fingers ever so slightly is like 50 stabs to the heart.

Perhaps he is being dramatic, perhaps he is just simply obsessed with what once was, but Oscar knows that this breakup has caused him irreparable damage. Racing does get his mind off of the breakup, but only for quite some time.

When he's out of the car, he finds his mind going back to her.

And perhaps Fate is just cruel, constantly reminding Oscar that his heart still belongs to her. As if there was some sort of string, binding his heart to her - yet the string that binds her heart to him is broken. Frayed at the ends, with no hope of reconnection.
