Stella

PART ONE: The special daughter

Let's be honest, the first time I held Bridget in my arms, everyone knew I had given birth to the most beautiful daughter, she had taken all the concentration in the mansion, and everyone adored her. Blonde hair, blue eyes that were practically siren, and a beautiful beauty mark on her neck. She looked like a femme fatally straight out of hell, which had caused difficulties. She was old enough to gain attention when I gave birth to her little sister Addie, who wasn't blessed with the same attention.

No, I loved them both unconditionally, but their beauties were comparable and different, too different it made me question myself. Adeline was too precious, too innocent to be my daughter, she had the beauty of a saint, even Avery made a joke that they switched her up in the hospital. It caused problems between Grayson and me, he thinks I favored Bridget, Stupid, right?

I love Addie so much, she's my baby, but she was too complicated. She doesn't want to open up to anyone, maybe only Valentina and Valentino, but she never told me a secret, she never bothered to talk to me, which truly hurt my feelings. Bridget, however, overshares everything, she tells me her secret and whatever she feels like saying. "I'm trying, okay? I don't know how to make her open up, Grayson."

"Stella, they're both your daughters, just because Bridget is satisfactorily in everyone's eyes doesn't mean we should compare them, both of our daughters are beautiful and smart, end of fucking discussion." Grayson seemed mad, which was understandable, he loved both of our daughters equally, and never made a complaint about them.

I sighed, shaking my head and getting up. Bridget was only twelve years old, and Addie was seven. Too young to deal with this. This is what happens when there are journalists, paparazzi involved in your life. I found myself in front of Bridget's room, where she was laying with Rosalina on her canopy bed while they gossiped, sticking something on their 'Burn Book' that they created to talk about everyone in their school.

"Sweetheart, may I have a few minutes with Bridget?" I asked Rosalina, sending her a smile. "Fine, bye!" Rosa left the room, leaving me and my eldest daughter.

I sat beside Bridget who was gnawing gum, laying on her stomach, and wiggling her legs as she sticks a picture of a guy in the burn book. "Ugly, all of them." She rolls her eyes.

"Bridget, I need to talk to you, seriously." I could never yell at her or punish her, she was too manipulative. "Yes, mama?" She sits down straight this time, she had always been keen on wanting to be a lawyer and we gave her the hope she wanted.

I didn't know how to form it correctly or nicely, but I blurted it out, I couldn't let both my daughters grow up with hatred between them because of social media, it will not happen. "Your little sister is very small, she is too young to be hurt right? Would you want her to be sad?" I asked.

Bridget's eyes raised and she furrowed them. "What happened to her? Did anyone do something at her stupid kindergarten, that's enough, these little kids are so—" I knew she was protective, but I couldn't let her do anything about it, so I stopped her.

"You're not the fault here, and I promise you Im not blaming you, but don't you think you're way too young to post on social media and stuff, of course, you could—"

She stopped me this time, and I knew that look on her face, nuisance, and bitterness. She got it from her parents after all. "No, I don't care if your other daughter is insecure, but Im not six like her, Im turning thirteen, and unlike her, Im confident and not insecure, she doesn't take care of herself, all she does is ballet, you're spoiling her!"
