Chapter 26 - Back in Action

It was Monday morning and Cherry's birthday. Angelica planned a special day for her. She arranged for Cherry to receive a bouquet of flowers every hour beginning at eight o'clock until noon. And each time a bouquet arrived, Angelica put a gift on her desk. She also treated her to breakfast, lunch and bought her a cake.

She went to the break room to get a drink from the vending machine. Damian happened to walk in at the same time for some Chex Mix. However, when he saw her, he took her by the hand and led her down the side stairwell to the third floor. There were empty offices in the back. They went inside the last office and locked the door.

"I missed you, Baby," he said rubbing on her breasts.

"I missed you too."

Damian got undressed and sat in a chair. Angelica removed her skirt and panties and sat on top of him. He was in heaven after not being with her for two weeks.

"Angelica, I have to tell you something, but I'm scared," he said getting dressed.

"Hablame."

"What does that mean?"

"Talk to me."

He hugged her waist and said, "I love you. I think I'm in love with you. I want to be with you all the time, I think about you all the time and I'm questioning my marriage."

"I love you, too, sweetheart. I've loved you for a long time," she said catching herself. "I mean since New York. I think I knew then."

Damian told her how he'd been short with people and had a serious attitude while she was away. Shana even questioned him and he didn't want to be bothered.

"So, does this mean you want a divorce?" asked Angelica.

"I don't know...maybe. All I know is that I need you in my life."

Angelica seized the opportunity to push Damian into making a decision.

"I'm single again. I broke up with my boyfriend for you. I didn't want to be without you, Baby."

Damian hugged her and got really sentimental. She played along with him.

That afternoon, Thad passed by her office. He extended a dinner invitation after their meeting. She accepted.

"Miss Angelica..."

"Yes, Cherry."

"Mr. Zachery would like to see you in his office."

"Ok. Thank you."

She went to his office and knocked on the door.

"Angelica, please come in."

She walked in and closed the door.

"Do you have a valid passport?" asked Austin.

"Yes."

"Good. You and I are going to Europe this Saturday."

"Like in five days?"

"Yes."

"Ok."

He explained that it was business and pleasure. He and several other executives were traveling to France and the UK to meet with consultants about opening stores internationally. Everyone was scheduled to arrive on Monday morning. He, on the other hand, wanted to go early to spend some alone time with her.

"Really?" she asked elated.

"Yes, but we actually depart on Thursday."

"Like in three days?"

"Yes," he said laughing.

"But I thought you said Saturday?"

"I said we'd be in Europe on Saturday. But we're making a stop first."

"Ok. Just let me know when and where you want me."

"Right here...right now."

"You wish."

"Will I see you later?"

"Probably not. I have a few conference calls with managers in California and Ohio. Then, I'm meeting with Thad about IT issues for some of my facilities," she said being truthful.

"Ok. Well, tomorrow."

"Definitely."

"Come here," he said wanting a kiss.

She got up and stood in front of him. However, just as he was going for it, Marla busted through the door.

"Mr. Zachary...oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize Ms. Zambrano was in here. I'll come back."

"No, please...stay. We're done here right Mr. Zachary?" asked Angelica winking at him.

"Yes, thank you," he said to Angelica. Then turned to Marla and said, "What do you need?"

Angelica was ecstatic about her trip. She decided Europe was the perfect place to take Victor up on his offer of a shopping spree.
