I sat in the kitchen chewing gum and scrolling through TikTok.

Hehe, that's funny.

I kept scrolling.

"Ah, YN. Good morning."

"Colonel!"

I jumped up and grabbed the broom I had been sweeping the kitchen with, saluting Konig.

He chuckled.

"How would you like to go do some grocery shopping with me?" He asked and I lowered my hand in surprise.

"What? Really?"

"Ja."

"Okay, I'll come with. Let me change into something else... if that's okay."

"Take your time, sergeant."

Shit! He caught me slacking!

I put on some normal clothes, shorts and a tank top.

I hurried out of my room and found Konig talking to Ghost.

"Colonel, lieutenant." I nodded and they nodded back.

"Ready to go?" Konig asked.

"Yes sir!"

"Alright. Let's go."

"Goodbye, lieutenant!" I waved and he nodded.

After a pretty awkward car ride we made it to the store.

I grabbed a cart and Konig read over the list.

Ding!

I looked down at my phone and frowned at the email.

"Is something wrong?" Konig asked.

"Ugh, yeah. I mean no! Nothing is wrong sir!"

"Please tell me what is wrong." Konig stopped the cart and looked at me.

"Ah... it's just, my high school reunion is tonight and I wasn't planning on going but everyone is pressuring me to go."

"Why do you not want to go?"

"My only friend from high school died in Iraq and I wasn't exactly popular in school. Besides, everyone is already married with kids. I feel I'll be the only one single and alone."

"I'm sorry about your friend. Why don't I go with you?"

"What? For reals!? You'd go with me?"

"Ja. I could pretend to be your boyfriend if you'd like."

I felt my face go red.

"I'd like that."

"I wasn't very popular in school either." He confessed and pushed the cart to the milk isle.

"I can't see why, sir."

"You're to kind, YN."

At the school

I looked around.

I was a bit shocked.

The emo kid is now a successful lawyer, and he's married to the band girl who is running a small business.

The football star player is now a plus sized cars salesman and his ex wife, the head cheerleader, divorced him and took the kids.

It's awkward, they're avoiding each other like the plague.

"We'll, Konig. This is it."

"Oof!"

I stumbled back as someone walked into me, Konig catching me by my elbow.
