"Dude! Get off my bed, you're getting your nasty ass lotion on my covers. I just washed these!" Delilah - Lilah's - twin brother Steven whines when he sees her on his freshly made bed.

"Belly kicked me out, she's with Taylor!" Delilah replies, sucking Cheeto dust off the tips of her fingers.

"Should've been here when I got to your room... kind of an L..." She says, eating more Cheetos.

"Okay... um... well it's not an L for me if you're the one who's getting kicked out of both our rooms. Leave." Steven points at Delilah, demanding her to leave.

Lilah gets up, leaving the snack at his bed.

"Fine." The white door stays open until it's not completely white anymore. She wipes her orange fingers on his door and runs. Sprinting down the stairs, she has a rush of adrenaline.

His shouts echo in the hallway and Steven is jogging two steps at a time.

Her feet step onto the hardwood of the open floor plan and Steven grabs her, picking her up over his shoulder.

"Steven! Put me down!" She shouts, out of breath.

Laurel snaps her head over to the siblings.

"Steven, put her down." Their mother demands. Steven complies, tossing Lilah onto the couch.

"You hurt?" He asks, Delilah shakes her head with a 'No'. "See, Mom, she's fine!" Steven snarks.

"Good. Belly we're leaving in 10 minutes!" Laurel shouts up the stairs.

"Steven, help me pack?" Lilah asked, standing up and stretching.

"Dude, you havent packed yet?! You usually pack like- a week ahead." Her brother boasts.

"Haven't gotten around to it, I guess. But whatever, come on, you don't have a choice, bud."

"Well it's not like you're busy with boys." Steven mumbles, following her up to the stairs.

They've been going to Susannah's beach house in Cousins ever since Delilah and Steven were babies. The beach house was the one place delilah felt the most at home. She always counted the days till she could see that beach again, see him.

"Guys! Car! Now!" Laurel shouts.

"Shot gun!" Delilah yells out, handing her bags to Steven and bolting past Belly to the front seat.

"Hey! No fair!" Belly whines.

Lilah happily sits in the passenger seat next to Steven, kicking her feet and looking out the window. All she can think is she loves this drive, this moment, they all do. But there's something different in the air. It's like coming home after you've been gone a long, long time. She couldn't wait to see him again, hear his laugh, see his sm-.

Delilahs thoughts were cut short when she heard her mother's voice.

"will you turn that music down a bit" Laurel asks.

Delilah reaches over and turns the car stereo down. Belly groaned in disappointment and annoyance.

"I want you guys to be better about helping out this summer. Don't leave your dishes in the sink; load the dishwater washer and not just your own dish is either Steven."

Delilah laughs to herself when her mother point out Steven.

"What? But I-" He starts to make excuses, looking into the backview mirror and back to the road ahead of him.

"I want you to be good house guests." Laurel continues, disregarding Stevens attempt to justify himself

"Mom, Susannah has people who clean, doesnt she?" Steven remarks, smiling and looking at Lilah with a look that one could only describe as an 'i dont know!'.

"Steven!" Mom smacks him in the back of the head. He apologizes, slightly laughing, but he apologizes. Laurel has never liked spending even a penny of Susannah's money.

"Just be considerate and act like I raised you right. That means don't stay out too late." She makes a point to look at Delilah, but she doesn't notice.

Steven yet again complains, then Lilah speaks.

"what?? how late is this so called; curfew" Delilah used he fingers to quote her mother.

"Wait, what about me? I don't have one either, right?" Belly asks.

Steven and Lilah look at each other and start laughing.

"Yeah, what do you need a curfew for? You don't go anywhere." Their brother replies flatly.

"Don't be a jackass, Steven," Delilah says.

"I think it's great that little Belly Button's growing up." She teases.

"I don't." Steven mutters under his breath. Delilah swats his arm.

"Enough, both of you. We'll talk about it when something comes up." Laurel tells them.

"Hey, don't forget, Steven, you promised to take me driving." Belly sits up, taking her feet off the centerconsole.

"Bellyyy, I told you I'd take you." Laurel sounds only slightly disappointed.

"Yeah... but you're too judgy." Belly mumbles quietly, Lilah laughs.

"Excuse me, mom taught me how to drive and I turned out just fine!"

Lilah backs her mom up, not about to get disrespected by her little sister.

"Delilah, that's why I'm driving right now and you're not." Steven jokes, but to be fair, it wasn't really a joke.

Lilah smacks him on the shoulder and scowls. She tells him to shut up and turns up the stereo, Taylor Swifts "Lover" playing.

This summer... It's something different.
