Thirty seven

Delilah and Conrad pulled up to the country club and walked up to meet everybody. Susannah saw Delilah and her eyes sparkled. "Del! you look gorgeous." Susannah said hugging her. 

"So do you Susannah." Delilah smiled.

the night was pretty good for the most part. The boys did a Debutante escort dance and it made Conrad and Delilah smile. Conrad whispered into delilahs ear.

"you're so fucking pretty." it matter hr shiver.

but then. when the dance was about to start Jeremiah was no where to be found.  so Conrad stepped up to dance with Belly. Delilah didn't really want him to but she understood why.

after the dance, Jeremiah came back. he had been crying.

he walked up to Conrad. and Delilah couldn't hear what they were saying. but she saw the expression on Jeremiah's face to turn from sad to mad. really mad.

"you knew?" he backed away from Conrad. "you knew and you never told me."  then. he punched him. right in the face. delilah stood from her seat running to try and help separate them. but Susannah beat her to it.

"what is going on?" she screamed. the boys stopped fighting to look at her. they stood up.

"we know mom."

Susannah looked as if she might cry.

Belly looked confused. "know what...?"

"Belly. don't worry about it right now." Delilah said. Jeremiah looked at her.

"you fucking knew too didn't you. and you never said a fucking word. you were supposed to be my best friend." he yelled.  Delilah looked at him.

"jere.." that was all delilah could make out.

delilahs pov

dinner was good. just like it always was on the last night. despite the old food. everybody pretended like nothing was happening. like Susannah wasn't sick again.

i already knew her cancer was back. but this made it real. a little too real. and it was breaking me.

everyone was laughing together. even jere and Conrad who was just fought a little bit ago. it was like everything was normal. and I hated it.

"soo. me and Delilah have to tell you guys something..." Conrad started. he placed his hand on My thigh.

"oh no." my mom laughed

"no. don't say that. you have to promise not to be mad" he said.

"okay we promise" susanah smiled.

"okay.."

everyone started at us.

"Delilah and i..."

Conrad said. he didn't finish the sentence.

"you guys what?" jeremiah asked.

we stayed quiet.

"did you knock her up or something??" steven said as a joke.

we got even more quiet if it was possibly. and everyone stared.

"holy fuck.  you got my sister pregnant!?!" Steven screamed.

"chill out steven!" my mom said. Stevens face was red.

"mom..." I started. she just stared at me.

"I hope you know what you're doing delilah.." she said. but then she smiled. everyone did. except Jeremiah and Belly.

"I getta be one of those young grandma's!" my mom laughed.

"ouuu and I do toooo" Susannah laughed. she got up and hugged us both.

"I'm really happy for you guys." she said. "Connie really loved you delilah." Conrad smiled at me. "I know.. I love him too."

a/n: sooo ik it's not exactly accurate. which I was tryna rush it... there's prob mistakes.  do yal think I should end it here or write like 2 more chapters... lmk! like actually
