"Unexpected friendships are the best ones."

~ ~ ~ > — — — — < ~ ~ ~

You would think being Daddy's one and only daughter would mean that his whole world revolves around you and that you are the star in his life. His pride and joy. His bright shining sun that makes his days ten times more glorious. But for my family that is very very false. Even though my father's wife left him and his only son went with her, my father couldn't care less about me. The only thing he cares about when it comes to me is that I follow his every command and demand the moment he makes it and that I go down the same path he did. That's why instead of my father dropping me off at platform 9 ¾ for my first day at Hogwarts, Cissy as I call her, Malfoy's mom is here with me instead.

"I'm sorry your father couldn't be here to see this. It truly is a beautiful moment that I can not wait to experience with my boy." Cissy smiles down at me, her hand resting on my shoulder as she admires the train.

"We both know that assignment didn't just come out of nowhere and he is probably sitting in Malfoy manor drinking with your lovely husband." My voice is sharp and I get straight to the point. There's no use in me whining about dear old daddy not being here for me when he has never been a part of any major event in my life since the divorce.

"Well, you know I love you darling. No matter what your father does or no matter how cruel my husband is to our family, I will always love you and you can always look at me as your auntie." Her eyes grow sad and I can tell she's holding back tears as she wraps her arms around me, engulfing me in a hug. I can't blame her for getting emotional. Whether she likes it or not I've become a daughter to her. I've become someone that she can talk about boys with and can confide in. Someone whose nails she could paint and hair she could do without her husband losing his mind.

"Well, you should probably get going now. I hope you have a fun first year at Hogwarts. You can always write to me whenever you need anything. And if anyone does anything to you or tries to don't forget that spell I taught you." She mumbles as she pushes me in the direction of the train.

I drag my suitcase by my side, making my way to one of the openings on the train. I make sure to turn back around one more time, blowing Cissy a kiss. At this point, tears are streaming down her face but that doesn't stop her from laughing and blowing a kiss in my direction. God, I'm gonna miss her.

With goodbye being said I had no other choice but to board the train and search for an open compartment.

Finding a compartment proved to be a lot more difficult than you would think. I stumbled upon full ones where I obviously wouldn't fit, half-empty ones where the spots remaining were "reserved", and basically empty ones where people didn't want anything to do with my company. Yet finally, by some means, I managed to find an empty compartment.

I let out a deep sigh before hauling my suitcase into the room. "How the hell am I supposed to get this up there?" I whispered to myself as I looked up at the storage railings miles above the seats.

"I can help you with that if you'd like." A boy's voice spoke out from the sliding door behind me. I jumped basically out of my shoes, stumbling slightly. "Woah there, careful. Wouldn't wanna hurt yourself before you even set foot on campus." He joked, causing a small smile to break out on my face.
