Chapter 2

I was released saturday a week later, and i was meant to live with my aunt. She lived in a bigger town than i did and i really didn’t know anyone from there. The last time i had been there was when i was 9.

*FLASH BACK*

My mother told me we were head to my aunts house to celebrate someone's birthday. She told that there were going to be a ton of kids there, and that i should have fun. We arrived at the house. The house was big and white, the shutters were painted red and there was a fence in the front yard, wrapping around the house. There were kids laughing and kicking around a ball, most of them were boys. The girls were playing dolls by the front door. They were giggling and pointing at the boys. One of the boys watched our car park into the long drive way. He had short hair and emerald green eyes, he looked like he could be 10. He had great moves in soccer, his feet hit the ball making it go right in front of him. He passed 3 other people making it to the opposite teams goal. He winded back his foot and kicked the ball, making it fly through the air and right past the goalie's hands. His team cheered and gave him all hugs. I saw my cousin, Ren, laughing and giving the boy a hug. I wonder what his name could be.

I father opened my car door and helped me out. I was wearing a shorts and a t-shirt. I didn’t like dolls, they were dumb and useless. My father patted my back, “ go play. Have fun, if you need anything your mother and I are in the back.” With that I ran off, heading towards the boys. There was an odd number of boys so i knew that i could be on a team. I was good at soccer, when my cousin would come down he would teach me some tricks. I walked over tapping my cousins shoulder.

“ May i join in?” I made sure to ask my cousin, because he would never say no. He nodded his head telling me that i was on the other team. I smiled at him, and ran off to my position.

“ Wow, why is there a girl on the field. Why is she on my team?” The boy that i didn’t know his name said. He scrunched up his nose giving me a weird look. It’s not like i have cuties.

“ Kemper, shes a good player. If you don’t want her, I’ll trade Aaron for her.” My cousin said, so his name is Kemper. Kemper thought about and pointed to Daton.

“ You're with me, you can have the girl.” I was disappointed in him, but what can i say, kicking his but is going to be fun. “ This should be fun, make sure they don’t score team.”

Why do boys take things so seriously, i mean its not like it’s a real game. My cousin passed the ball to me, and i took it down the field. Passing 2 boys, making one of them fall down. I came to kemper who gave me a smirk, I kicked the ball behind me and then to my left foot. I kicked in between his legs, confusing him. I then ran around him kicking the ball towards Brain who drew his foot back and kicked the ball into the goal. Everyone cheered and hugged me and Brain. This is how the game was played multiple times, Kemper had a shocked look on his face. When the game was over we all shook hands and i went to tell my mom and dad the news when Kemper stopped me.

“ You play good for a girl. But it won’t ever happen again.” He smiled at me, while saying it.

“ We shall see about that,” I hit his shoulder and ran to the back of the house.

*FLASH BACK OVER*

I wonder how kemper is doing, or how Ren is doing. I don’t know why we never came back to the house again. My mother always said we never had time. So i just thought whatever. I missed my aunt and Ren. I always loved hanging with Ren, Ren was a year older than me, same as Kemper and Aaron. I still can’t believe this is happening. I’ve cried myself to bed every night since the accident, i’ve also had dreams of the car accident. But i’ve learned to push the hurt and memories away when i'm around other people. It’s been hard, living, knowing that your family was killed. I hope people accept me in this school. If not i don’t know what I’ll do. I had to leave Nick behind, but were still in touch. I’m just distant from everythign and everyone. We arrived in the Calhoun, there were old brick building, that lined the streets. People were laughing and walking around, there were 5 gentlemen at the bar. There was a park across the street from the church. A couple of families were there, no one my age. There was a lake outside of town, and i think thats where everyone from high school hung out, because you can go mudding, drinking, and partying out there without getting caught. We arrived at the house, it was still big and white, the shutters were still painted cherry, apple red, and the white picket fence was still wrapped around the house. Flash backs of the soccer game came back to me, making a smile play to my face. I had ear buds in blasting music. I stepped out of the car, my boots rubbing into the gravel. I pulled my shades down from my eyes looking around, popping a bubble in between my teeth.
