Kenny POVThe beeping of my alarm seared through the calming silence of my bedroom as the clock struck 7am. I groggily slumped my hand over to my desk to turn it off and shuffled down farther in my sheets, hoping to relive the dream I had been having.
"Kenny get ready! You're walking your sister to school"
I groaned as my mums shrill voice rang through the dusty hallway and finally pushed myself up into a sitting position, before making my way over to the wardrobe to retrieve my beloved parka.
"Morning" I muttered as I made my way towards the kitchen fridge to snatch a pop tart before heading out to start the dreadful school day.
My father murmured something in response without looking up from his outdated newspaper that he likely stole from someone's trash.
I sighed and wandered over to the front door, pulling the straps of my school bag over my shoulders.
"KAREN TIME TO GO" I yelled issuing an agitated "shhhh" from my father. The girl herself came dating down the hallway, pulling her dirty, dark green coat on.
"Ready!" She yelled back.I turned to the door and begrudgingly pulled it open, preparing for the cold autumn air to rush into the already chilly house. I stepped back letting my sister out first and eventually plowed into the cold weather myself.
"Cmon" I muttered, pulling my parka tighter around my face in an attempt to avoid frostbite.
After a 5 minute trek to the bus stop and another 5 minute drive to the school itself, I was stood in the brightly lit hallway, students pushing past me, the white light casting a gloomy glow across their tired faces.
I sighed and pushed my way through the herds of students all flocking to get to their lockers. Until I saw the familiar glistening blue eyes and freckles cheeks of Marjorine Stotch.
"Hi Ken!" She beamed as I made my way towards her. She was perched against my locker, checking her phone before class.
"Hi" I smiled back, tugging my locker open and getting out my copybooks."I am so tired" I muttered groggily as I slammed the locker shut and turned to face my best friend "it was freezing last night"
"You should stay over at mine more often. At least we have a working heating system" Marj joked as me made our way toward Mr. Socksookair's classroom.
The unpleasant smell of weed assaulted our nostrils as we entered the classroom and said our hello's to the red-eyed teacher, and made our way towards our usual seats near the back.
"Can he go one day without getting high?" I grumbled, slumping into my chair and slamming my copybook on the desk in front of me.
"Bit rich coming from you after last Saturday" Marj snorted back.
I snickered and picked up my pencil, doodling on my notes and impatiently awaiting the bell that signals the start of class. Before the bell however, a scratchy noise came over the speaker, followed by PC principals strict voice.
"Kenny McCormick please make your way to the counsellors office. Oh and uh bring your bag with you.""Shit" I muttered, dropping my head to the desk and scanning my brain for anything I could be in trouble for. Marjorine looked over to me with a worried expression plastered on her porcelain skin.
"I-I'm sure it's nothing to worry about" She reasoned, picking herself up from her chair and receiving my bag from under my desk before handing it to me with trembling arms.
"Sir can I walk Kenny to the counsellor?" She askedMr. Socksookair grumbled in response, head still rested on his desk, clearly fighting off sleep.
I stood up and thankfully retrieved my bag from Marjorine, before shuffling my way out of the classroom and walking towards Mr. Mackey's office.
