The room's dark, and every person here is asleep except for me, my friend, and Moon. I close my eyes every time he's close, but I don't drift off. I want to put off my nightmares a little longer. He's so scary...
I see light shine on the floor, my friend must have opened the door. Of course, Moon leaves quietly to pursue her. My friend and I don't exactly enjoy this place as much as the other kids. However, our parents leave us here anyway for some odd reason. They seemed especially excited today, leaving us to the friendly Sun's care.
This is also my cue to find a way out, Cass doesn't mind naptime, but she understands my nightmares. We became friends here, understanding each other's suffering. I look at the slide, and I climb up in it. I can't go through the gate, or else I'll bump right into them.
"I don't know what got into you today," Moon sighs as he enters with the sleeping Cass in his arms. How does he do that? Magic? "Sleep well."
He walks past the slide and to the path of the gate. I just need to hide long enough so then I could get out of here fifteen minutes before the whole mall closes! I wait a minute, and I make a beeline to the Daycare Entrance/Exit.
Okay, I've escaped. Now, how can I hide from him long enough? The other animatronics would bring me back here, even if I protest. So would an employee...
My eyes land on a large, shiny tube. No, an animatronic use those! Wait! An animatronic! Some of them have little hiding places in their stomachs! It's after their afternoon show, so if I can get access to Rockstar Row, I could probably get in one of them! Wait, what am I planning? To be banned for life? To get an early death wish? Probably both.
I stop thinking about it, and I crawl right into the vents. I find Moon wandering around below me, searching every possible hiding spot, even the large tube. NOW I'm glad I didn't go in there. I continue crawling right into a room that is far away from Moon. It's Monty's, but the towering gator is deactivated. I crawl in, and hours after, he's awake.
He looks around, probably wondering what he's going to do. He yawns and starts walking. I try to be careful to not let him know I'm in here. There's an announcement that the mall is now closed, and I start panicking on the inside. I'm locked in! Oh no! How am I supposed to explain this to them?! To Cass?!?
Wait. I didn't see our parents earlier. Is Cass locked in as well? I'm stuck now. I can't get out of Monty without letting him know I'm here!
I feel so stressed, but also so tired. How late is it? My eyelids crawl over my vision slowly, just like ink. I drift off to sleep as soon as the darkness envelopes me, right in this cold and uncomfortable place. It feels just like home.
Moondrop's P.O.V.
I wander around, trying to find out where Sunny could be. She hasn't been acting so well the last couple of days. I don't know what happened, I just want her to tell me. I check on the gang to see if anyone's up, Monty's not even in his room. He sure woke up early.
I walk down the halls, through some doors, upstairs, downstairs, but I still can't find Sunny. Cass was acting odd, but only for today. As far as I know, she's sleeping soundly in the mazes.
I see Monty going to the golf attraction, but I stop him.
"Monty! Have you seen a little girl around? About this tall, red hair, freckles...?" I ask.
"No, why?" he answers.
"She ran away during naptime," I explain. "She's been acting strange lately."
"Haven't seen any kids," Monty replies. "She probably got back to her parents."
"Her friend's parents come with her's to pick them up, but they weren't there," I continue. "Neither of them."
I hear a little shift and a whimper in Monty's stomach. He opens it to reveal the small Sunny, she's asleep. I take her out of the cavity and hold her close. Monty seems surprised at the sight of her.
Sunny holds herself closer, a small tear running down her face. A nightmare.
"She sures know how to hide," Monty replies, closing his hatch.
'I'm going to bring her back to the Daycare," I sigh.
How did she even get out without drawing my attention? She does seem quiet most of the time, as Sun tells me, but it doesn't explain this.
I walk back to the Daycare and start crawling through one of the structures, I find my hiding spot for Cass, and place Sunny next to her.
"Sweet dreams," I whisper, staying close to them for the night.
